Tommy Bugg is back in the mix this week so we have a new Demonland Poll. Are you ready for Tommy Bugg's return? Does he come straight back into the team or earn his keep at Casey?

He'd need to push out someone like Harmes or Melksham. I'm not sure a push would do it, maybe a left uppercut.

Not sure he's ever been a walk up start in the seniors... in fact, one of the most frustrating parts of his brain-fart was that we'd already been decimated by injuries.

Nope. Casey for me. People that can kick goals not points in the side thank.

Some good performances at Casey and or a few lack luster/tired injuried players in the seniors and he could quickly find his way back in.  He should be fresh as a daisy, hungry and out to prove a point which could make him a good inclusion against Collingwood and or first week of finals.

If true that is total bollocks.

He stuffed up and has paid his penalty.

I totally agree, jnr.  He paid his penalty with 6 weeks of no football and, from all reports, he has put his head down and worked extremely hard on the track for each of those weeks he missed.

I still think he'll make his way back through Casey, but I'd happily welcome him back into the side if he was picked.

Tomas Bugg needs to earn back trust? What, are his teammates afraid he might him them? Contemporary society is just so full of nonsense.

Definitely Casey, he's not a walk up start. If he puts in a blinder for Casey he's a chance for Collingwood.

Depending on how he and the other hopefuls at Casey go, he could be a good exchange to give Petracca a spell for a week, should Trac's performance against the Lions not be at full intensity.

A fully fit and focused Bugg could be the perfect player against the Pies.  Hope he has practiced his goal kicking in his time off.

He should be fit at least and will rip it up at Casey hopefully. I do feel sorry for him, as stupid as it was. If his points were goals (most easy) he would've been a standout. Wish him well

Bit rich for Stevo to rule him out for the year. Had we had a stinker on the weekend a lot would be calling for his return, but Melksham was very good.

Melksham has been good to very good for a while now.  If anything, he was one of the beneficiaries of Bugg's suspension.  He has locked down that half forward role really well, almost to the point that there isn't a spot in our 22 for Bugg at the moment.

If Goody wants him in I have no problems with him going straight into the AFL side. We've missed him in the side, and i dont think the incident was as bad as some have said

^This

Plus by all accounts his response and training standards while doing his time have been exemplary.

The value of a hard at it player with 6 weeks rest at the pointy end of the season cannot be underestimated.

Tomy Bugg could be a very useful player in September if we make it.

We have missed his spirit in the fwd line.

I hope what Ch7 reported is crap

I saw Bachar Houli was back playing at the weekend- did he play any games in the 2nds?

Malcom Turnbull vetoed a return via the 2s.

I heard that too but reckon it is a load of [censored]. If his form warrants selection we will select him.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
