It is confirmed that Patton is out.

Again, so important that we manage to stop Lobb who was always going to be the biggest thread because of his size.

Big out.. he is the highest ranked forward in the league over the past few weeks.

No excuses now. We should win

The opposition always has at least one gun player whose impact you have to minimise, not having Jetta man up on him would probably help.

So they're missing Cameron (42 goals), Patton (36) and Greene (33).

Interestingly, Patton and Cameron were also missing the last time we played them and won, while Greene hadn't reached star status yet.

That's 5.84 goals per game roughly, that's bloody handy.

The gws line up is intimidating. Stars on every line. Two fwds out helps us but their midfield talent is by far the best in the league. They ran into some form in the last quarter last week.

I can't see us winning. But there's always a chance in this crazy season

What's the difference between 'rested' (Hannan) and 'omitted' (JKH and Trenners)?

My understating of AFL rules is that omitted players can play and be listed as emergencies, but rested players technically have an injury and so under the AFLPA agreement have to be left out.

Thats how I've heard Chris Scott explain it anyways.

Agreed.  That is the issue - they have plenty of goal kicking mids so still have plenty of scoring power.  In 2015 their midfielders tore us apart with quick clearances and quick goals.

We have quite a different team now but they have shown they can win games without their talls.  They should not be underestimated.

GWS midfield weakness is that they don't defend so well.  That is a plus for us.

The big test:  Gawn vs Mumford.  Whoever wins gives their team the edge.  Both are rusty.  Will be a fascinating match up.

To close to pick:huh:

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
