Here are the "high"lights of that game as well for the masochists out there.

Anyone else agree that this is the biggest game for the club since the 2006 semi final against Freo ? Hopefully we get a big turn out, 35k+ would be good

30k max imo.

How did this team not win a premiership?

Because they were ineligible to compete in the VFL Development League, perhaps?

And before anyone else says it, I'm not sure they'd win that Premiership, even if they were eligible.

As an aside, isn't it nice to be well into July and still be firmly focused on the season ahead.

Usually by now, our season is over and the board is dominated with threads on who to delist, who to trade for, who we can get with our picks... etc

Apparently Sam Mclure on SEN reckons Trengove will play this weekend.

Would be great to see him back if true.

I wonder if the club has purposely been holding him back until this late in the season?

We have tired badly the last few years with so many kids running around.

That doesn't surprise me, I think he could be used as a tagger.

That would surprise me. For no other reason than if Watts, Tyson, Salem and possibly Viney come in, that seems like enough changes already. I realise Kent and Vince are automatic outs and Garlett may be unavailable, but if Trengove plays, I suspect that means Viney and Salem won't be.

Don't misunderstand me - if there's a spot for him, I'd love to see him selected.

I wonder if they've also waited until after a bye in the VFL. I know some of the grounds are still quiet heavy underfoot so probably gives him the best chance to be really fresh. Maybe they'll give someone like Hannan a rest then play Trac forward all game and have the midfield cover?

How would you feel if he is selected instead of Tyson

If Tyson isn't ready, happy for Trengove to play in his stead. That could mean something like:

Out: Vince, Kent, Smith and maybe Garlett

In: Watts, Viney, Salem and maybe Trengove.

Wonder if being 'greeted warmly by his teammates' when given the ok to join the main group at training is a sign Jack v will play.

Edit: Some good side to side running in this video

It seems he has a few more things to tick off tomorrow but gee he sounds confident...

Here's hoping!

Garlett will be a big loss this weekend. I thought he was one who had a real crack against the Crows last week. Yes, he kicked 0.4 but on most weeks that would be at least 3.1 for him.

I doubt we'd name a replacement for Garlett considering Kennedy seems to be no where in the minds of the coaching panel and Johnstone isn't ready yet. Hannan and Petracca have been given a lot of midfield minutes over the last couple of weeks considering the losses of Tyson, Viney and Jones. If Tyson and Viney are named then I'd like to see one or both of Hannan and Petracca spend more time up forward.

Is there any training on Friday?

The team will be up today or tomorrow and have a scheduled closed session tomorrow at the TIO ground.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
