The real question is what does this mean for next week?

And next week has become a must win.

A loss is one thing but this is going to really do some damage to our percentage if it keeps up.

Worrying signs for the club. Spanked by the swans, flattered by the scoreboard

lucky to beat the blues

spanked by the crows..

we are a young side that plays a high tempo style and may be out of legs. The rubbish short breaks also hurt us badly in this regard.

Plus having 5 of our best players out compared to Crows zero.

Its the one game where they are MIA

They are under immense pressure largely due to the forwards not exerting enough pressure when we lose the ball......and that extends back to poor delivery into the forward line.

Kicking forward to three Crows defenders. Feels like Roos era footy. The Petracca kick staight to Brown (I think) was a classic case in point. Classic clearance, streams through the middle, nice kick deep forward to... Adelaide. Good question for the 'offensive coordinator' if anyone ever gets the chance to ask.

Plugger has played a bit like Tom McDonald in this game. Hogan is only slightly off but it's slightly too much.

Not feeling a win in the air in this one. Not writing us off entirely because we've shown we can come back, but I think our opponents are too classy in this instance.

I've seen Hogan make numerous leads where he's been clear of his opponent by at least 10 metres and often they ignored him.

What do you want the guy to do when the ball gets kicked 30 metres over his head?

Not sure we can carry max any longer. Should have left him at ff with tmac rucking and hogan in the middle. Pedo see max.

Should have left Gawn in Melbourne. Terribly out of touch. He is not the answer at FF as they will just keep bombing it and playing into Adelaide's hands. Been absolutely spanked the last few weeks, Gawn.

The four players every time at the drop of the ball with massive tackling pressure around the ball is what won it last time. It wasn't the midfield cleatances at all. In fact we're often winning the centre hitouts and clearances but there's no forward structure and very weak tackling.

The only hope we have is if the crows feel the heat in the second half and we run over the top of them.

It is a very small bit of hope but maybe something we can hold onto. Well at least until 5min into the third quarter.

Close in clearances and stoppages. Winning contested ball against the league's best contested ball winners. More inside 50s.

We are losing in delivery going forward, and utterly deplorable defense structure when they're rebounding. We have competed well but structurally we've been badly outplayed.

Exactly

Until we get our full team back in, it's going to be heads above water stuff.

Doesn't mean we should give up on games but as supporters that's where we are.

And we are without three of our best  mids, AND our cleanest ball users Watts and Salem.

He can't take a mark. Neither can Hogan. Neither can most of our players in a contested situation.

Why does trac always have quiet first halves?and why is smith playing? Why does lewis give off so many hospital handballs with his experience and why does jeffy fade away towards the end of the sesson. So many riddles.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
