Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Turns out that star Giant was little Zac Williams from GWS.

Been off work all week. Courtesy of poorly timed Appendicitis (Surgery during first half if West Coast Game - watched the last quarter on the phone in recovery room!). Have had nothing other this game to keep me preoccupied this week...... Has taken for [censored] ever to get to game day, now game day is taking for [censored] ever! Hurry up already!

Biggest game in a decade for us, will be an absolute cracker and no skin at all off anyones nose win or lose. Obviously another win is a huge statement but a loss is irrelevant in the scheme of making and winning finals. How good is enjoying footy again

I hear ya.

Interesting also that not very long ago fans would have been absolutely livid if we thought the players were going into the game with this attitude (the bolded bit)

Now that we have won a few in a row, the fans can now afford not to get OTT upset about a loss.

Might well be the players calling fans weak for thinking that way soon.

Yeah, enjoying the footy is much easier nowdays. Hope it stays that way.

Maybe Weideman in?  Makes the White selection make more sense.

If Hunt out and Weed comes in, it looks like this.

Salem, Garlett and Hunt out.

White, Weed and Wagner in.

We have lost a lot of run there.

We won't play Weideman, Pedersen and McDonald in the same forward line.

Do we have to use one of our emergencies?  If yes, who comes in if Hunt out?  Johnstone???  Trenners??

Hopefully it's all academic anyway and Hunt plays and tears it up.

Any chance that Sydney have any injury concerns or is it all just us?

Just us by the sound of it, although on SEN last night Mark Fine was adamant that Sinclair will play tonight as a late in. Unsure how good his mail is.

I apologise if this has been discussed on another thread, but is it correct that if we win tonight we will be the first team in AFL/VFL history to win four games in 18 days?

Note: That's what I'm sure I heard, although technically today is the 19th day since we played - and won - on 12 June

For that matter, when is the last time we went undefeated through the whole of June?

Would it be right to say we haven't won many matches in June for the past 10 years or so?

If Hunt is outta going to be really tough to win. We're already up against our with our 3 main goal kickers out, but losing Salem, Garnett and Hunt... that's a lot of run and defensive pressure to lose in one hit.

Its going to be tough to get the 4 points tonight.

Perhaps a reality check.

Despite our greater depth the absence of key players does make a significance difference to the game and team attitude.

Look at the Swans first half of the season and the impact injuries had to their win-loss ratio.

If we are competitive we will have done well.

It will be a challenge to our depth, flexibility and game plan.

I can't see how we nullify Buddy tonight particularly if TMac plays up forward.

The way we play tonight will really test all players, coaches and their belief in themselves. It's critical that we get a good start and do not have to play catch up footy.

Its amazing how 4 consecutive wins changes attitudes and perception.

I am not looking forward to tonight but do look forward to getting players back so that we can really see what we have got at the business end of the season.

It's not a reality check if we lose. It would be a reality check if we had Watts, Jones, Salem, Hogan, Garlett etc. running around tonight and got done.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
