Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

No way does Weed come in.

Difficult to see him returning this year unless there is a terrible run of injuries.

Hopefully he continues to find form at Casey both in the forward line and around the ground. He will be a key player next year and perhaps a smokey for selection if we go deep into the finals.

Do yourself a favour and watch the game - he will come back in for sure .

I was at the game and was about 10 metres away when he took a very strong mark in the second quarter.

I was also at the game against Coburg a few weeks back where he could not take a mark to save himself

On the hamstring issue, broadly there are only two reasons for hamstring pain and tightness. Firstly referral from the low back, which has no time frame on recovery. Could be a day, could be ongoing and frustrating. The other is a tear, of which the severity spectrum is broad, from small and undetectable on MRI or US scan (? Jack Watts), to big rips or avulsions (Max Gawn). For ANY hamstring tear, as minor as they are, it is a mandatory 3 weeks, no exceptions. The reason for this is that statistically the risk of a worse re-tear under 3 weeks is unacceptably high. Hopefully Jack Watts, Salem's and Jeffy's are back related, otherwise they'll follow this management, sadly. If Jack Viney has injured his Acromioclavicular (AC) joint and it's structurally stable (which it must be, as he came back on after a jab), playing relates to being able to play with any pain. Jack won't miss, I'd say.

Isn't Zeplis a moron?

He is the worst! Never forgive him for the commentary when Adelaide belted us in their last game a footy park. Kept saying "Melbourne understand their part in history".

Last night was classic him. Sucking up to the eagles and missing anything that resembled a free for Melbourne.

Totally agree, Zemplis was almost dribbling from his constant gushing for Meth Coast players like Petrie and McGovern. Failed to comment on the numerous soft free kicks given to them, can't recall a mention of the fact they had 11 more frees or the total they received of 27 being unusually high.  There were numerous similar infringements against Melb players where no free was given and nothing was said. We not only beat Meth Coast, but the crowd, the commentators and the umps!

I heard that too and I'm in Vietnam. Parochial Sandgroper bias

I agree we basically have two key elements

1 The rolling maul of inside mids - our ability on the inside means that with enough pressure and freeing of arms and a variety of handballs we can move the ball from a contest / congestion situation to an outside runner - when we spread leading to 2.

2 Getting in behind the defence - from the line of the last defender in the press, players like Garlett, Hannan, but also gut runners including hogan watts ANB etc. we run towards goals and the kicker basically kicks beyond the last line of defence

This form of attack doesn't rely on a lead up forward or a bear in the square or precision entry - although all of those modes can and are used as well as the

Both these key elements dont need talls and we should recall that in a period without spencer, hogan and gawn we have had success.

If watts and hogan come in then which talls go out? On last night Salem is out injured - Melksham might go back for salem but after that it looks like a small goes for a big.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hannan is rested, hip can tighten up badly especially with a four hour flight.

if not, then

out: Garlett, Salem

in: Watts, JKH

JKH scares me as he was super terrible when in last but he has excelled at VFL and is perfect to replace Jeffy if his hammy requires rest.

Jeffy looked sore, and Salem clearly has some issues.

Wagner and Jkh come in. Not sure if Wattsy will be available.

A rampaging Swans outfit will smash may beat us if Jeffy, Salem and Jack miss are unable to run freely.

Did Hannan pull up okay from whatever was ailing him early?

Where's Joel Smith at with his injury?

Is Maynard ready?

Even if Joel Smith has fully recovered, we are not going to rush in a first year player who has played one quarter in 3 months.  No way.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
