I started tearing up watching that. 

i understand it's a very different experience for players vs supporters and I don't really begrudge players changing clubs ( even TS ) but you gotta love Jones. He'll be loved by the club forever.

im a regular Sportsbet punter but I've never bet on MGC for the premiership.

Just grabbed a sneaky $20 @ $16 in light of Jones interview. I can feel something  happening...

Great read. I always respect players who are loyal to our club, considering what we have been through it would be easy just to do go to another club; but like Robbie Flower he has stuck by us, and it's because of that i have a lot of respect for this true Demon. On Ya Cap.

Less than 100 behind Junior for total tackles, too.

 

Ha! Found a bonus note for those still enjoying the fact that Collingwood have gone backwards every year since 2010.

Melbourne have improved their result by at least two wins, in every season since Jones was made acting co-captain.

The captain that took a club from 2 wins and 54% to... to where? His worthiness for glory is beyond debate.

Just watched it Naser; you were spot on, the emotion in his voice was passionate about where he wants to be.

Loved when he was lifting weights and he said imagine if we can achieve success. I hope he can hold that cup up soon.

That video is so inspiring.

I really love Jones and have so much respect for him as a Melbourne player and person.

No matter what happens, he will go down as a Melbourne great and will be forever remembered that way.

There is not one player in the entire competition that I can think of, who deserves that moment more.  If it's this year, in which case I won't be able to attend, I hope to hear that roar from here in my Sydney home.

If someone wants to pay for air fares, accommodation and two gf tickets, I'm there. Unfortunately, with no steady income at present, it's a bridge too far this year.

My main concern would be being trampled in the rush to the cardiac defibrillators for all the Demon fans in the event of a close one.

If already flaked out, the concern would be the amount of time it would take to get a defib  and a doctor. I suppose in the members there would be plenty of doctors about but patient care is not what it used to be. Demon supporter doctors would understandably put the match before the patient!

In my case, we would need to be 10 goals up with 5 min to play to avoid this possibility. 

Even the home and away games are getting to much to bear, last Saturdays game being the most recent case.

My mum's cousin had a fatal heart attack in the 1960's watching Melbourne play so I worry its in my blood. Who needs a cardiac workout - just be a Demon's supporter and watch the footy with someone who knows how to do CPR.

If Nathan Jones was "fashionable" (or Channel 7 actually broadcast more of our games): he would be AA and could probably retire as a bloke who never achieved that, .

External to Melbourne criticise his kicking ,ball handlig etc, but never his heart.

When he first became Captain , he found dealing with issues pretty hard based on interviews. In many ways he really took losses to heart and personally. He seems a different person now.

I will admit that Nathan used to be a two grab player and did not have the confidence to kick consistently well. However that is the thing we now notice about him is, he is now definitely a one grab player, rarely loses a one-on-one and if he does he makes sure it is earnt.

Plus he now emerges/lifts at crucial, big times . The players must love him.

It gives me shivers just thinking about it.

Nobody, truly nobody in the AFL currently, is more deserving of holding up a premiership cup than Jonesy. There wouldn't be a single supporter or player who wouldn't be happy to see that happen.

I was talking to some friends on the weekend, and they were saying imagine a GWS - Melbourne grand final. The history, the emotion, the passion, there is no way any neutral fan wouldn't be supporting Melbourne. 

Now more than ever I'm confident that Jonesy will be a premiership captain before his time is up, and when that moment happens, it will make all the suffering worth while.
