Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'd forgotten it was only pick 29 we traded for him.  What a total bargin.

Hadn't really taken much notice of him at Essendon, but can certainly see now why those on here who had were putting so many tickets on him and justifiably so.

Had a lot of the guru's on here moaning that it was massive overs by memory.

He's having a ripper season.

You can't tell from the online version, but this story is the backpage lead on the printed version of today's Age. It seems the media has decided that we're worth writing about again.

I don't blame the media for its lack of coverage of all things Melbourne in the past decade. We brought that on ourselves. But it's nice to see that now that we're a proper football club again, we're being noticed.

Love him. Knew he'd be a gun.

And he has been. Simply has to be in any AA conversation.

Yes I paid attention to what you said about Hibberd as I knew very little about him and you have been very right - he has become one of our first picked and most important players.

I think you also had an higher opinion of Melksham than some others here and that is slowly proving to be the case too. Good on you Ron

A Hibberd kicking ass story while pleasing to MFC supporters, is also infuriating for Bombers supporters...

Noticed a "teensy weensy" bit of different body language from opposition forward line "supposed tough guys" with both Hibberd and Melksham roaming around our backline, as recent even as last week. Thanks TWSNBN....

Maybe true for Melksham, but not for Hibberd.

Quite a few people at the beginning of the "Welcome to Michael Hibberd" thread thought we'd have to pay more than just our second round pick. Very few thought the result was a bad deal.

Hibberd has been a great get for the club, I'm satisfied with Melk for the price we have paid too.

He hasn't set the world on fire but has been serviceable since coming back into the team.

Strikes me as a player that plays his role, but isn't noticeable or a standout with acts of brilliance. So isn't really put out there as a 'best player nomination' too often.

On monday we had back AND front coverage of the age (big pictures). Headline on front page, with a photo of viney hugging a teammate, was CHAMPAGNE FOOTBALL VERSUS PREMEIRSHIP HANGOVER

Very pleased with Pig's addition. Class, hardness, skill and excellent decision making.

Jury still out on Milkshake, but I've liked what he's done in the last couple of weeks. Going forward he might just surprise a few here

The issue was not so much what Hibberd was worth, it was more what we we could get Essendon to accept for him.

He's been a very good acquisition, Melksham not so much at this point in time.

Players like Hibberd will help us win big games like Saturday night.

I wasn't a fan of drafting Essendrug players (still aern't as i don't think it is all over) but Hibberd has been superb in all games he has played for us, so he does get credit for that

I think the guru's thought that Essendon's demands for a 1st round pick were overs for a 27 year old, and the fact that we did pay overs for Melksham meant a 2nd round pick was about right.

Absolutely love Hibberd.  I was telling Melbourne supporters over pre-season that he's like a taller, deadlier-kicking version of Jetta.  Rarely beaten.  Lethal kick.  Nice dose of sh*t about him.  You just feel comfortable when he's near the ball.

It's a real pity one of his years as a prime mover was wiped out.  Hopefully he can add that year onto the back end of his career.

If his body holds up I think he'll be top 3 in the Bluey for the next 3 seasons.

I always thought he was a good player and my best mate who is Essendon really rated him but said he always had soft tissue injuries. Perhaps we are managing him better, but not in my wildest dreams did I think he would go close to a bluey this year , what a pick up!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
