Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Only spot by my calcs to be changed from current top 8 is Freo. Have to hope Eagles beat them in their "Derby".

Seems a bit early to predict? West Coke has a hard run in with really patchy form.

I'm still hoping for a fade away and a 9th finish, so I'm more than happy not to see them in the finals (provided we are the ones in the finals!)

Well, all credit to the Tiges. So far they have outperformed a lot of clubs including the Demons, and in so doing made many eat their words.

They are playing well, with some genuinely good players, some stars and a strong belief in themselves. And, you would have to say, well coached.

They seem to be well balanced with a good mix of players doing their job.

I wrote them off at the start of the season, but they are going very nicely.

Brendon cares about Brendon, it's pretty easy to work out

Brendon thinks he is a great leader, but i wouldn't put him in that category.

Would be thrilled to play Richmond in the finals. Most over rated team in the 8.

freo will struggle to make it and west coast aren't  a  shoe in either.

They play 7 more games at home and considering their form might only win 5.

That puts them at 11 wins, short of the 12/13 required. Dees fate is in their own hands

Also leaves the door right open for essendon and saints. Essendon will need to win 7 from 11 and saints like Melbourne 7 from 12.

From memory we didn't have a ruckman. Pretty sure we were missing a key forward also. It would have been nice to see Bernie puke on Higgins, rather than the grass.

GWS are 9-2, a game clear on top of the ladder. They have the following players on the injury list -

Matt Buntine - season

Steven Coniglio - 8 weeks

Brett Deledio -  TBC

Ryan Griffen - 4 weeks

Nick Haynes - 4 weeks

Jacob Hopper - 2 weeks

Steve Johnson - 1 week

Adam Kennedy - season

Rory Lobb - 1 week

Devon Smith - 5 weeks

Will Setterfield - 3-4 weeks

This is frightening. They could win the next 6 flags.

Agree. Richmond are just a turd rolled in glitter right now. Our best Vs our is a no contest.

Essendon won't make it. They are as overrated as anyone in the AFL right now. Saints have shown glimpses just like us, and should push for a spot in the 8.

They only beat us because we were down two players including our ruckman.

This is the most even season in living memory, Richmond aren't as good as their position suggestions and Sydney aren't as bad.

The scary part is they have butchered a few drafts along the way too.

Because Coniglio, Lobb and Smith are injured? The rest are past it old guys, run of the mill players and people the average fan will never have heard of.

Well yes, add those three guys to a 9-2 team and it becomes even more dominant.

Hopper and Setterfield are very talented, if they played for the MFC we would be talking them up as future superstars.

I'd be more impressed if he went out and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck, scored a goal, created a few more, generally revved up his team mates and dragged them over the line. Or died in the attempt.

The kind of thing that Danger, Kelly, Grey, etc, might have done.

Instead he jumper punched a plate of food. (It's a one percenter that doesn't show up on the stats sheet.) Then probably pointed at the broom cupboard and yelled at his team mates telling them how to hold the mop.

Haynes goes under the radar.  He's a big GWS out.

That said, the hype on GWS is overstated.  If anything they're overrated.

There's no standout team in the competition.  Even the notional top 4 are ordinary compared to previous years when there was a clear divide.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
