Hogan is arguably the most valuable player on our list. I'm beginning to believe we play worse with him.

i'm not a massive believer in stats but I want to see big numbers from Hogan if he comes back in tackles and pressure stats.

I feel your pain bro. Get better soon. I broke my collarbone (+ ribs + vertebrae) in a cycling accident some years ago.

And my son broke his collarbone 2 weeks ago. (Football injury.)

Hes had the most interrupted season you will ever see from any player for so many different reasons. 

We are much better when hes in the team and you're right, he is incredibly valuable.

the only problem is a bike in Rome is a Magic Carpet, i came unstuck.. litterally going down a steep dry grass hill on road tyres on a 220kg bike. Before and After Photos (Abruzzo Mountains shortly before i got the helicopter view ;-(

Good post. I can't remember a season where one player gets floored and has to get up again so many times over. Talk about the year from hell. He hasn't had any real chance to get going, but has still been alright, and has shown glimpses of his best.

Fitting that this week, he plays game 50 on his third comeback for the year. He gets so much focus that it feels like it should be 150, but it's a reminder that he's still only just getting started. It won't be long before he finally does actually get a decent run at it and will remind people how good he is.

I think the myth that we could be better off Hogan is that all our most momentous wins of late have in Jesse-free sides; Vs Geelong in Geelong, Vs Hawks at the G and then this year Vs Crows in Adelaide and Eagles over in the West.

I think there is more to it than his stats alone. But just on these, the timing of his worst games (Richmond, Hawthorn, Carlton 2, Adelaide) becomes quite marked.

He was also building into really solid form before the collarbone. His game against Port was really important and he set up our first half lead with the football he excels at. I hope he's able to recapture that today.

All year he’s been Resilient and Courageous.

Today he was Inspirational.  A terrific 50^th game from him.  Virtually won the game from his own boot.

I felt like he moved as well as I've seen him in 2 years today. He just looked fit, and he ran at the ball carrier a lot.

His kicking was incredible too. He didn't look like missing. 

Just to give it some perspective Daniher has played 70 odd games straight for Essendon. If Jesse does that for us we will win a flag and he'll win a Coleman.
