Hawthorn has over 71,000 members, their fans have seen four premierships since 2008 and they can only get 28,000 people to the MCG on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Incredible.

No pets allowed at the G.

Not sure where they got the other 8 thousand from.

They have, without a doubt, the biggest bunch of bandwagon supporters of any club.

I reckon at least 30,000 of that 71,000 just signed up to enjoy the success.

This is the club that got 17000 to the mcg on a Sunday arvo in 2014.... as reigning premiers.

ok.... coming down very slowly after yet another disappointing MFC result.

In line with the eternal optimism of an MFC supporter still believing in the mathematical chance of making the finals (wasn't late last year fun for a while) I am curious what is the best outcome for us from the Collingwood v Essendon game.

My head says Essendon to lose as I think Collingwood can be relied upon to achieve mediocrity and a near bottom four end of season position even with a win today.

Perhaps a draw so both teams can rue what might have been.

Cannot bring myself to hope for injuries no matter how tempting the thought might be.

So.... Essendon to "hit the wall".

No you can't Diamond, but we can sure as hell hope for reports. And perhaps a midweek drug bust, off site of course.

No need. Coached by a pharmacist and an ex WCE one at that. Will know all the tricks.

How lucky is Buckley to have such an influential godfather-- he would be long gone without. Still, let him stay.

"Vitamins", you mean. Also, they go off-site for the really good stuff.

Any injuries for Essendon yet or does that only happen to us?

None of any significance at this stage.

It is improper to hope for injuries to Essendrug players. On the other hand think of the deserving players who will get an opportunity to play to replace injured players.   Conscience cleared.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
