Hand over the cup now I say. I think we were legit in that small window of integrity between our salary cap excursions in the mid to late 90's and our tanking in the 2009/10.

All this does is make you wonder what other dodgy dealings were done under the table, and how stiff (and probably stupid) we were for our salary cap sanctions in the late 90s.

It also highlights what a bloody loose unit Ricky Nixon is.  Why bring this up now?  Hasn't brought himself under the spotlight in any other way recently, I guess.

Annoyingly clever. Didnt technically break any rules at the time.

Blame the afl for this one. They should have been stronger on everything salary cap.

the way the afl rules are set and administered they probably did break the rules, but the afl were either too dumb and ignorant or plain gutless (or both)

They probably still go on a lot.

They wouldn't give it back 'Earl'...lost it out there in the universe with Jobe's Brownlow.

It might be hard to believe this now, but there's a fair chance senior people at the AFL in 2000 didn't understand that Internet thingy and had no idea what a domain name was.

(Some might also wish to argue that thee's a fair chance that senior people at the AFL in 2017 don't understand the Internet.)

The questions is; would you want to win that premiership this way 17 years later?

Yes.

That 13th flag has been a bugbear, happy to win our 14th this year.

And I hate Essendon.

In these days of Trumpism anything is possible when it comes to the news cycle.

I am beginning to warm to this idea. Give me a few days and I will believe it.... give it a few weeks and it will be a fact on Demonland.... two months and it is widespread alternative truth ..

Yeah... let's rewirte history ......... after all that is what EFC are doing re the gang of 34 !!

No it wouldn't be our premiership and I wouldn't want it now. The AFL can strip them of the premiership and draft picks though if they want, I've enjoyed seeing them down! :P Annoyingly the fans still have their arrogance.

They were fined for cheating the salary cap in 1993 as well. Should have lost the flag then too.

Firstly - with absolutely no evidence whatsoever (fake news !) I would be surprised if any club was clean on the salary cap and the like in those days. I don't think it was a matter of "if"  - more like "if you got caught".

Would I take the premiership ? In a heartbeat. Would it give me any real joy ? Meh......

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
