Have you ever heard of someone becoming a member of a football club because of its sponsors?

It's the sense of momentum and the platform this provides to talk positively about the club. It's an excuse for a press conference and it's an excuse to get the brand out there.

So yes, if we play it well, we could attract a few extra members.

I'm starting to worry. Ideal time would have been the agm or the season launch.  No other events to before round 1 so will likely launch the sponsor on the footy show. Not ideal. Hope they can pull a rabbit out of the hat

this is the obvious choice for BOJ sponsor

Perhaps we should get demonland on the back of the jumper.

Supplier of Fresh Jack Watts threads since 2008....

Wont have a deal done by next weekend. Should be something sorted in the first few weeks of the season.

Sounds like you've heard something promising ox_5 - care to offer any hints?

I'm a little surprised, I must say. How hard can it be to sign a BOJ sponsor with our upside? If we've managed in previous years and teams like Carlton can manage it, surely we can.

Yeah, okay, we might be looking for a bigger deal, but it seems a little unprofessional to enter the season without.

Don't know company names, but aware the Club are progressing positively with a couple of suitors.

Why don't they just put AHG on the back as well as on the front like they have in the last 3 years?

AHG have scaled back their sponsorship dollars, and their contribution no longer is market price for front and back.

Why not give the space over as a last resort for just one season to a non political charity or environmental organisation that could use the exposure to attract donors. World Vision or Trust for Nature, Bush Heritage come to mind.

I'd say our budgets will be well and truly out if we gave up potential sponsorship dollars like that. Even though morally that'd be great. The Barcelona's can do that stuff because they rake it in on multiple financial fronts. I'd hazard a guess that we couldn't afford to do this.

Even to do that for one or two games would cost the company.

TBH, as a good will guesture I hope we run out with AHG on the back until a new sponsor is secured. They came on board when we were the pits. Give some back.

I think i read that the MFC women's team had a different sponsor? If so i would put them on the back until we get it sorted. We are the pioneers of football and at the forefront of pioneering womens professional football. Support the people who support the Melbourne brand.

I think you will find others have suggested Demonland as BOJ sponsors.

But surely having AHG for free is better than having nothing on the back of the jumper for a couple of games.

We look ridiculous without a back of jumper sponsor.

I know PJ will get a good deal done, but am surprised he hasn't got one finalised before the season proper. Very surprised.

Just put wacky bumper stickers on the back.

Opposition players that can read might get distracted.

It looks stunning and classy.

That's like saying NRL team uniforms look better than NFL ones.

Or the shirts that the pit crews in V8 Supercars wear.

They look real good.
