Yeah they've done a good job.

Also just FYI if anyone is a Telstra customer, if you update the AFL app you automatically get the AFL Live Pass for free again this season.

I made it down to training for a little bit this morning, managed to get in a selfie which was pretty good.

I spoke to Lewis (he's hotter in person) who said Melbourne is way better than Hawthorn.

I left my satchel on the plane, does anyone know if there is a Louis Vuitton store in Marrochydore?

I asked Salem about his Thyroid, he said they were good, we had a laugh together.

The players did a few drills and kicked the ball around, looked pretty good to me.

This is photoshopped.

Burgo mentioned in his diary that Pedersen has dropped 10 kilos and is now down to 93kegs. Great effort Pedo!

Photos are up too. Whatever gear Petracca is on i want some.

He's looked noticeably lighter all summer which is why it was strange one of those AFL.com.au articles said he came back in bad shape. Surely they stuffed that up. Does make me wonder if he'll continue as a key forward and not rucking without the extra bulk.

I like how Burgo always slides in a few extra details during his camp diaries.

That's good, keeps our expectations in check leading up to the season

Not sure why people go on about Saty's comments.

He has his  opinion and he passes on info that he gets.

From that point on either enjoy the info or ignore it.

I  am glad he keeps contributing.

The quintessential training report.  I hope you found the Louis Vuitton store up there mate, that satchel is a big loss.

Today Jordan Lewis was teaching the boys about the fine points of unsociable football, viney went the best in unsociable drills,  watts just could not get his head around it,  CP5 would do it with a smile, nev hit the hardest, pedo duck his head,  Angus kept getting his head knocked and omac did not see it coming, overall it was a well run drill,  but many egos where bruised and Tyson hurt his knee again, some will question if it had any benefit to it, others will say they have done it as well,  others will be scratching their heads

I don't understand how Pedersen could drop 10 kilos. Does that mean he was not fully fit previously? Which then raises the question of why? Conversely, if he was fit, why was he physically developed to be 10 kgs heavier?

Just on Tyson and his knees, when I went to training in later December, one thing I noticed about Tyson (but didn't mention) was the way he stands and the mechanics of his legs.

When standing and walking, it's as if he is in a constant state of hyperextention. As if he has abnormally flexible knee joints and that the supporting ligaments and muscles surrounding the knee are unusually stringy.

It just genuinely looked like his legs would snap at any second. I wonder if this contributes at all to these knee injuries that seemingly keep occurring. You'd have to think so.

Yes.

He has always carried some condition. Part of the 10kg would obviously be muscle as well.

But he was always carrying unneeded weight. Especially for the position he is required to play.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
