Yep i don't like that poster that doesn't make much sense either....

You need to read the entire thread to comprehend. It's only about 4 posts. Reading anything on here in isolation will probably be confusing.

Have fun watching the slowest team in the comp, along with Richmond and North Melbourne.

We will open up the gap between us and Bulldogs/Saints/GWS.....I can assure you.

Pessimism personified. Have you had a bad day/bad year TGR? Surely you can see how this will benefit us as a club.

I think if you remember over the years TGR is deeply pessimistic, even by the naturally historically justifiable standards of MFC supporters.

Our speed and outside mid stocks aren't bad:

Lumumba, Hunt, Harmes, Kennedy, Vince, Salem, Melksham, Petracca, Garlett, Kent

we have a few guys who can run and carry and be damaging on the outside.

the thing to remember is that fast runners doesn't always mean fast ball movement, the Dockers have Pierce and Hill but still seem to move the ball quite slowly.

Agree with this.

Leg speed is often overrated. Someone should arrange a race between Lewis/Petracca kicking a 50m pass, versus Jayden Hunt in a sprint.

Pretty sure the kick will get there first. If you win the ball first at the stoppages, running patterns, positioning and ball use are more important than leg speed imo.

Hibberd bullet pass from half back, hits Lewis in the middle of the ground, lace out to Hogan, precision will always beat leg speed, but we have some genuine leg speed as well so it's not a bad spot to be in

Gary Rohan, plenty of leg speed and endeavour, but no skill, I think I know who I'd have between Rohan and Lewis.

Blease anyone?

Oliver, slow leg speed but quick decision maker and quick hands. Gets the ball moving quickly.

Oliver doesn't have slow leg speed.

Had great results in the sprints, 3k's and agility when drafted.

The Number 3 jumper awaits.  Lewis is hard at it, has footy smarts and can kick a footy.  He will make the younger guys stand taller and feel stronger.  Onward and upwards.

Agree. He's going to be very powerful busting through packs.

He isn't Hunt glide across the G quick but he is more short burst quick.

I suspect any interest we had in bringing in Barlow is now gone, Lewis taking his place

Some pessimism is rightly justified but this is beyond my comprehension. I would have thought we could all see at least some positives in this development.

I reckon number 6 for Lewis and number 14 (assuming Dunn goes) for Hibberd

19 for Hibberd for me, can be Melksham's locker room neighbour.

I think the key thing we should all be proud of is that Lewis specifically picked us out. He didn't want to talk to anyone else. How many times have I read posters on here bemoaning the fact that we are not a preferred destination of elite players?

Welli have news for them - we are now! And it has everything to do with our late round thrashing of the Hawks. I don't know how many Hawks supporters I have spoken too recently who askerd me who I support when I say the Demons, they are in awe, and generally say we are developing a dynasty to rival theirs in the future.

i have never seen this before.

It is delightful

If he wants it we shouldn't have bought him to the club.

FFS. Don't be so petty.  It was a throw away line which was to highlight the appreciation of him choosing us and we taking him.  As an aside, it would not be the first time that numbers have changed between players when a new (and high profile) recruit is signed.  But whatever.  Geez, the sky would fall if the numbers changed and Lewis would be less than genuine if he wanted it.  Wouldn't he?

Feel free to look up the draft combine results mate.

Also, being the slowest out of the fastest players in the comp doesn't make you slow...

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
