Gees theres a bunch of spuds on here talking about effort in relation to the Dogs. Our players try as hard as they can. They need more preseasons and more time together. Our list is 2-3 years behind the Bulldogs in terms of preseasons and build. Half our side has played less than 30 games.

And yes the Bulldogs have had a lot of injuries but I wouldn't say they've got their best 6 out. Bont and Stringer are both game winners. We don't have one of those just yet.

Stop potting out players all the time. It makes you look pathetic. Remember we beat Geelong this time last year, or does that not fit into your narrative about how terrible we are?

I'm actually loving this Dennis + BT commentary team. Add in the Duck and there's some pretty good footy knowledge present tonight.

Certainly better than BT and Luke Darcy. Over the top commentary filled with childish inside jokes.

This is part of the problem

always an excuse to lean on...

Emphasis on the team aspect here. BT is like a troublesome child who's not so bad if you put him with mature kids.

Game over. The only thing worse than that dreadful Scott object is the obnoxious little fat girl (with glasses) making irritating squeaking noises on a recorder in the AAMI commercial.

On reflection you're absolutely right. If we wait another 2-3 years for our list composition to be similar to the Dogs I'm sure we'll be around the top 4 and competing for flags. Have never heard anyone suggest we just need time and to get some preseasons and games into our players before.

So whats the Bulldogs excuse tonight? Injuries played no part?

Nope, because context is irrelevant to any argument that the pessimists on here want to make, or is that only relevant to the MFC and doesn't apply to other clubs?

Not dealing with arguements

just the facts. This club has covered itself in excuses for decades...

Every time that ad comes on my mum mutes the tv or leaves the room. That girl very irritating.

Rhys Stanley 4 goals. Might be hard for Mitch to get back into that forward line.

So judging by the arguments on here we clearly need to be lumping a bunch of kids who weren't born for the majority of the time some frustrated supporters have been supporting the club into one bundle - and then tell them that the last 50 years of club history is now their responsibility to fix.

Have you spent much time with 21 year olds. I believe the phrase they use is 'F*#ks not given'.

The only way is forward. History is irrelevant, regardless of how entitled you feel because you've sat through some lean years.

I've just never seen us play with that manic intensity for a full four quarters before.

Bulldogs are young too.

Cats such an arrogant mob. Take Danger out of the side and they would be ordinary. Let alone the advantage of a lock in crowd at sleepy hollow. What else would they do. Not read the Vedas, the Torahs, Tolstoy or Hemingway. Dangerfield or Stringer is all we need. Let me go to sleep and dream.

I'll put my squabbling with other 'supporters' aside and say this...

Geelong are a very uninspiring 2nd side on the ladder, particularly in the context that the team thats 1st already has the last 3 premierships :/

He's improved this year. Stayed on topic, hasn't made too many big bonar brown name changes or poofter gaffes. As for Ling or captain obvious. How about they keep him on the boundary and turn his mic on for 20 seconds every 10 or so minutes.

The Geelong win is now a part of Demons folklore. Not sure why. Yes, a very good effort. But Geelong weren't a top side last year. They finished 10th.

It was the first time Max Gawn absolutely dominated. One of the most dominant performances from one player on a team across the league all year. Bernie Vince also had one of his best performances from memory. It was the style of win. We didn't scrape over the line and win by a point. We beat them all day and ran training drills around them.

Overheard handbag supporters at the game.

Because they got four umpires now ,does that mean they have to have four handbags full now and they get extra for talking to us nicely during the game.

A terrible omission. You forgot to mention the coach. I hate him even more than the supporters/players/ground/town!!

What's with the ruck rules? One can stick a knee or boot into an opponents chest to block him but not a hand.

Geelong players can apparently kick a guy's face in during a ruck contest, says Jeff White, with impunity, so why not a knee?

Gawn in combo with Spencer.   I don't believe it has been seen before or since.

Cats and Hawks have a lot of silverware this century

Geelong are the AFLs biggest charity case.

They have the easiest draw once again despite giving up next to nothing for Dangerfield and having the biggest home ground advantage.  makes me sick.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
