Not only that he also said Stanton would re-sign.  Stanton did that a few days after braysure made this post:

So far he was 100% right.  He also posted that Hibberd's father wanted him to stay at Ess. since backed up by several other reports.  Just maybe he is a Dees supporter and was passing on info.

I will confess I thought he was legit as we had exchanged some pm's on his earlier predictions and he didn't sound like a troll in those.   Maybe I'm just gullible...

His info seems to have been correct, but you don't come on here being a smart ass to others, while backing the drug cheats.

Of course people will have a nibble at you.

Think you'll find the smart ass to others was purely on the back that blokes like you were having a decent crack and attacking him for simply providing info that some didn't want to hear.

I didn't see a problem with his comments at all but from what i could see he simply got frustrated from all of the attacks and took the bait that some of you threw out.

I did laugh though when he tried to come back a different name and pretend to be a civil Essendon supporter. Old mate didn't think that one through...

Don't really care dazzle. He wasn't interested in discussing Melbourne, only the drug cheats.

My greatest hope for Essendon is that they get these players back and are still just really average. That will really upset the playing group.

Why you would want to stay at a club that still tries to insinuate that it did nothing wrong when they jabbed you every day for 8 months with unknown substances supplied by a guy that now even the bikies have turned on is beyond me.

I wouldnt stay in that work environment. Would you?

Because they know exactly what they were getting and were in on it.

That's why they never disclosed to ASADA, yet before the regime came in they'd declare as much as changing the type of paracetamol that they'd use.

Of course the players knew all along what was going on; it's one of the reason nobody's sued the club. They were fully complicit and the club almost definitely has evidence to show that -- which they have probably used to blackmail players into staying.

Why did certain players refuse to get involved in the program? Why did they never disclose the injections to ASADA? And why are these questions never asked, point blank, to these drug cheats in their media appearances?

The whole situation is a farce and we're being spoonfed a false narrative from the cronies at Rupert HQ.

I don't believe he signed for the $800k per year as stated in the media. I think he will get far more as Compo, which really is salary, but won't go in the cap.

Is that legal?

In your view?

Even more amazing that some don't think all clubs do it.

Really? You think all clubs do it to the same extent as Essendrugs? See, even with the routine matter of re-signing a desired and apparently willing player, seems they just can't help themselves in being deceptive although there's absolutely no need to be. You really think that all clubs do that?

To be honest i'm thinking that this says all the more about Melks forthright attitude in that he was prepared to bite the bullet and come over to us, not swayed by all the sh#t.

That said i'll still stick with Hibb until some contrary news.

The sort of barnstorming pressure that is being exhibited here by certain parties is i would think being closely watched by ACA and ASADA.

By god it's going to be a cracker of a book(books) whoever does one. I'll go first and say Tam

Paul Connors was just on SEN and said Hibberd is still overseas!  So much for Barrett's comments that he was at the game last week and in the rooms!!

Connors also said he will talk when Hibberd gets back next week and "he is really close to Hurley so that will help".

Very happy to see Hibberd stay with his mates!  The fewer players we have from that toxic culture the better!

You have a crack at others for providing info as well.

Pretty sure Barrett only claimed Hibberd father was in the rooms which was correct.

Look, if we miss out on Hibberd I'll be a little disappointed.  You can never have enough quality players on your list, and Hibberd is certainly one of them.  Good user of the footy, strong in the contest and he is a competitor.  These are the traits that Roos and the FD have gotten in to the club over the last few years, and he would fit the mould very well.

On the flip side, I think the last 2 months has shown how far we've come as a footy club, and how settled our list is beginning to look.  Do we need Hibberd off a half back flank?  It would be nice, but the emergence of Hunt, and the improvement from Josh Wagner, shows that it's not a big need right now.  Our back six is improving each week and, with the addition of Melksham as well, I don't think it will hurt the club in the short or long term if we miss out.

We still need to continually add quality players to our list, and I'm sure the club is looking at all options, but missing out on someone like Hibberd is not going to be the end of the world!

Nah i dont mind people who provide inside info, whether its Melbourne or Essendon.

There is only one poster who deserves every bit of a wack that comes his way especially after the Patrick Dangerfield Josh Kennedy debacle that led everyone on a merry go round. He was taking the [censored] with everyone and somehow managed to get away with it. Yet many on here are willing to bow down and worship him. I dont.. He goes on to mention that Prestia will choose us, again how did that turn out? when clearly me and you saw that the Dees shut the door on him as soon as he turned us down and we git Oliver. We were never in the hunt this year fair to say?

Not sticking up for Braysure but all of his info turned out correct and many got stuck into him for simply saying Hurley wasn't coming to us. Dont think many gave him a chance at all to see if he was correct indeed.

Same, we do need either someone to develop internal or to bring in a strong half back defender who has good skills.

Not sold on Salem as a defender, Harmes as a defender. Wags has shown a little bit and looking fwd to see how he pushes on over preseason.

Salem strikes me as the perfect winger, playing on the opposite side to Stretch.  Both are calm under pressure, use the ball well and run to the right positions.  Hunt may also push up into that role as well.

I think Vince and Melksham may play that veteran, half back role for us which will release some of those players to have a spot further up the field.

Hibberd would be a really solid get for us and I still hope we land him. He'd be another really strong and experienced defender that'd help glue that back six.

And on the Salem issue, I would absolutely hate to lose him.

Have said it before, but as soon as he has one uninterrupted pre-season and season of footy, I think we'll all see how important he'll be as one of our young core.

Yea true Melky could step into that spot. Vince is an interesting one as well. Salem winger, half fwd lazering pills to Weid, Hoges and Wattsy.

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
