Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Amazing what happens when you get the best player in the comp and give up sweet fark all in return

#equalization

Hopefully when we are up and about we will be able to get some quality in just the same.

But my god he's been a beast this year. We would have knocked over the bombers and North and be sitting nicely at 8 and 4 at the worst if we somehow jagged him in the off season.

Geelongs win tonight goes a small way towards paying back the money I lost on them when they were beaten by Collingwood and Carlton.

It's just really awesome always getting a running total on your betting account mate. Thanks for sharing.

It is not a matter of loading up on draft picks...

Given our history every other non MFC supporter would lol at that post WYL. For 8 of the last 10 years we've had pp's at the back of our minds

That's got nothing to do with it

We didn't get one. So the Bears have a lot more pain to go through.

The problem Brisvegas has is player retention (en masse)

not recruiting Gun Kids

Is Stringer overrated?

Why would you suggest that? He kicked more behinds tonight than anybody else on the ground! Dangerfield, Selwood, Hawkins or Menzel didn't kick any!

The Cats precise ball movement at full pace was extraodinary tonight end to end at least 4 times.

The Dogs are good but like Nought they will only go so far.

The Cats can win another one if they take that form into September.

Last round should be a lot of fun!

Why? Do you think we are incapable of beating them again?

Honestly I just find these pessimistic posts absurd. For example, last week Jesse white and Mason Cox were going to destroy us. Look how that turned out. I just raise the question, do you think other teams look at us and question how to stop us?

Thus far this year, we have max gawn giving first ride to a midfield who leads the comp in clearances, we also follow up secondary stoppages with clearances ahead of any team. We win ball on the inside with the best of them and possess a forward line that not only has a multi pronged line up, but kicks more accurate than any other team.

I'm obviously not saying we will beat geelong, but they are hardly the same team who won everything in the years bomber coached, only 13 days ago carlton destroyed them.

This whole "well we won't beat them" mentality is a load of tripe, we finally have enough weapons that we can match any team, especially in a year with no absolute stand outs such as 2016

Did Brisbane really just have 110 more possessions, win the contested possessions ND similar tackles and inside 50s, yet still lose by 8 goals?

Massive shout out to anyone who watched that in full.

They overuse it off half back and end up going backwards most of the time. They remind me so much of us under Neeld. There's no plan or at least very little. It's a short kick to the back flank or a long kick to a contest up the line every time. Their ball movement is shocking. Leppa needs to go.

Sure we could beat the [censored] again, but we would need 18-22players to all play well on the same day. Not saying it can't happen but we are not at their level of  skill yet.

We beat 'em last year because they didn't take us as a serious opponent and paid the price.

Geelong obliterated the Dogs

and deserve to sit on Top...

Much as I don't want to see the Hawks go 4 in a row there is something sickening about the idea of the cats getting straight back up to winning a premiership that stinks. That said I don't want North to get it either! I spose Swans and Dogs are my choices!

I have no problem with Dangerfield, he played his guts out for the Crows until the very last moment.

Unlike players who have walked from The MFC in the last few seasons.

Yeah I'm kind of in the same camp, Dangerfield was an absolute star for the Crows last year and while his output may have increased with the Cats I think it's also had a lot to do with the personnel surrounding him.

Compare that with Chip who while we played him in the forward line, was pretty useless in his final year.

The real winner this round  is the issue of ducking being talked about. Its not ok to say its in the rules....its a form of cheating a rule designed to protect players like Gus Brayshaw

The ducking move  triggered by dropping the knees and throwing the head back could lead to someone becoming a quadriplegic. Neil Sachse of the Bulldogs became one. He did not duck but stumbled forward and copped an errant knee to the face from a player coming the other way. The dangerous issue is not the high tackle which is usually very low impact and incidental in nature but looks dramatic on TV. One of these duckers copping an errant knee or hip and breaking their neck will happen one day. Players like Sellwood are placing themselves at high risk aside from cheating.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
