Though wins v Suns and Blues are not assured. I would love to beat the Power. They are so arrogant and Wines & Ebert ?needs to pull their heads in. 

Improvement but not translating into finals footy. Each year the push up the ladder gets harder.

We will beat Blues,G.C and the Hawks (they need a loss b4 finals) , no to P.A and Geelong That makes 10 wins p.c 101.1  which I would say is a pass for me.

Must WIN game this week. Lose to the Suns and I think we are treading water. Our lack of injuries mean in Roos and Goodwins eyes that this is our very very best 22. We need to win by 7-8 goals.

We've improved significantly this year in all aspects bar the most important. Before the season I had us on 10-12 wins. We'll probably fall short but still a sneaky chance if we do what we should and win today and against Carlton.

When you're coming from so far back the last thing that happens is the wins, we've improved but so many times this year have just fallen short. I'm confident they're on the right track though and this will translate to wins next year. Look at our % as an indicator of our improvement. Besides the Swans game played in miserable conditions no blowouts. The Essendon game is obviously the one that still bitterly hurts and the two Saints games are just plain annoying but overall I think it's been a consistent effort all year while blooding such a young team each week. I think we've foregone potential wins having such a young defense and leaving out players like Dunn and Garland but long term I think it's the right call.

Overall I'm more positive about the future than I have been since 2010 (! not sure if that's a good thing ) and far more comfortable with the side than I was this time last year.

We could beat the Hawks if they decide to treat us as a practice game. But we are likely to beat ourselves before the game has started. I doubt we can beat Carlton. They are playing like they really want to win and history shows we usually crumble to sides with desire irrespective of form and ability. The Suns we have to beat but no gimme as they have won a few recently. Forget about the others.

At least 3 or 4 of Dunn, Garland, Lamumba, Dawes, Grimes and Trengove should have been part of a solid core group by now. All are ready for delisting. TMac and Hogan  who are projected to be our key bookends appear to be biding their time and their future with us is unclear. Yes we have a lot of promissing young players but that has been the case since 2009. And many do not progress after their first or second season.  In reality we are having another rebuild inside the Roos rebuild. It will be galling if our best win of the season turns out to be round one which appears to be the case. We have gone backwards since then.

america de cali, The Dunn's,Garland's etc were serviceable in the past but are now dinosaurs.We managed to pick up in the past rubbish coaches and hence rubbish players.Literally we are in another re-build phase. We need to have good judgment when picking up young players since our first piick in the draft may be around the #27 mark. Presonally I think we will keep Trengove. The positives (excluding existing senior players) is Steven Stretch's son has come in leaps and bounds. The negative is Max King who has remained static and surely would get the "cut"

What troubles me is that we're having our best season injuries wise in decades, have a better squad than last year yet still seem to struggle to turn the corner and win the games we should. At near-full strength and still struggle to win games against teams around us on the ladder. Rather telling. I fear the curse of "186" still plagues the team. It's definitely *another* rebuild of a rebuild. We still have A LOT of list turnover to go. 

Would not be surprised if the Suns pump us today. It smells of Freo circa 1999 at the MCG. Lynch will probably kick 10.0 like Modra did that night.

We've reached the "par" mark of 10 wins, now let's see if we can better it. There's no gimmes in footy but we will start favourites next week against the Blues - then with any luck we'll be playing for a spot in September down at Geelong.

Whether we make it or not I think the doubters have been proved wrong over the last fortnight. Dare to dream.

I thought we could cause an upset or two, and while I thought we would beat the Saints, the Hawks game makes up for that, while the Port win was another some wouldn't have given us much of a chance in.

Win next Sunday and, as the Doc says above, not only do we hit the 11 win mark but we potentially give ourselves a shot at September as well.

Some people predicted we would win zero more games after that St Kilda loss.  

In the 4 games since, we are 3-1 with the only loss being by a goal vs Eagles in Perth.

Sure, they might be able to pick up an A grader here or there from the FA market in the next 5-6 years, but given SOS' build of GWS, I wouldn't trust him to rebuild their list from the draft anyway. They're ultimately building for a middle of the road result. In comparison, we're building for sustained success.

Now I know we've been burnt by inexperienced and misguided FD's before, but let's do a conservative comparison with Melbourne's under 25 midfield. Viney, Tyson, Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw, along with elite talent like Salem. Not to mention an elite young CHF (tracking statistically stronger than the greats of the game) and another KPF in Weideman who is tracking on a similar trajectory to Hogan's first VFL season.

But we're also not done building our midfield yet either. We'll add Prestia next year and another A grader in FA over the next 2-3 years and our midfield will compete in the top 4 with the only other sides that will remotely come close to our young midfield in GWS and the Bulldogs. If our systems click, we could surpass the Bulldogs in 18 months time. Who else competes with the access to top-end talent that we have had? It'll be GWS, Bulldogs and Melbourne, as the GCS implode and lose all their young stars in Prestia, Swallow and O'Meara. Melbourne's midfield will be the envy of the majority of the competition in 5 years time.

I think we are further advanced than that. I think our current mids are superior in potential to the dogs, Hawks, cats, crows. They will take one or two years to gain the experience to be superior on a consistent basis, but I don't think we need too many extras to get there. Personally I hope they don't trade out one of our high potential mids for some of those flakey youngsters from GCS.

It could easily be 11 or 12.

There is no reason why 12 wins is out of the question.

Finishing ninth will conclude a very successful 2016 year.

Let me be the latest poster to look silly. At the start, I predicted 10-12 wins, although I did not expect it to pan out exactly like it has. I'm now predicting 16 wins!

Yesterday I watched the Carlton game if we don't get 11 as a mininium DC I will be seriously disappointed.

The navy Blues were terrible. 

We are a ten goal better side.

I am looking forward to a big one from the Dees next weekend at the G.

By the the way our jumper looked good again last night I quite like this design we will win in it again next weekend.
