Changes vs Pies (Queens Birthday)

you beauty.  we need Viney on Monday.   if we are to get anything out of this season we need a win, otherwise itll be 4 losses on the trot and all momentum gone

if he is 50-50 - for Viney that is pretty much 100%. unless the docs pull him, he wont pull out due to pain

The Legend continues to grow!

Viney won't get up, Two Changes

Grimes for Omac

Kennedy for Harmes

Yeh Viney was doing light duties with H this morning. Pretty sure he wont be a late Inclusion.

How dare the cub misinform us supporters about how long Viney would be out.  I'm outraged that playing with Buckley's head is considered more important.   Off to the microwave. I go....

I also agree but where to fit him in is the problem.

The two that immediately come to mind is Wags and Hunt but they've hardly done anything wrong. Maybe a rest would be possible but with the bye just around the corner it would hardly be warranted.

Replace Kent.

Defensive pressure Solid body. Experience.

Nor can I, but I cant imagine that will please too many on here

I wouldnt see him dropped either... more the case for whom ?

Harrmes is off the boil, Benken  is bubbling over.  Youd expect maybe an ex Pie to revel in sticking the boot in ( again )

How the defence lines up is more about how their fwd lines up.

I believe the forecast is for a reasonably fair day, no rain. Perfect for footy at the G

Go Dees, tear then one...

Cant see how Viney could get up. If he does would expect Bugg or VandenBerg to be out.

I think that one change makes the most sense

If Viney gets up (doubtful) could change to Viney for harmes and BenKen for Kent with Trenners to spend time in the forwardline to keep midfield rotation up.

Fair day no rain? Puts big expectations on Garlett and Dawes to improve from last week. Conditions won't be an excuse if it's dry

but he is (very much) left handed, lh, with a high % of handballs

My bad, dc. It is his right hand.  Viney saw his surgeon on Monday and received a positive report on his right hand.  I guess this means he can handball: splint and bandage around his middle fingers - nice platform to hold the ball to handball with his left.

I'm sure nothing fazes FIGJAM but I like that he has something extra to think about. To really mess with his head we can name Viney in the final 22 and when final lists are submitted 1hr before the game, replace him with an emergency, if necessary.

Edit: Don't know what to say dc.  Just saw this pic on our website.  It shows his left hand strapped.  So I was right the first time... 160609_Viney.jpg

Maybe this is a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing...

Now we're really messing with Buckley's head.

Viney has a knuckle injury doesn't he? Whilst having surgery suggests lengthy recovery time in order for the bone to fully heal, I imagine the risks involved in breaking it again are less than other areas of the body.

He'd have to hit somebody again with his hand or someone would have to kick his knuckle or something for further setback.

I feel like it's super important for him to play this week for a must win game for us. He can miss next week because I can't see us beating the swans in any way. And then there's the bye so that's two weeks off.

Yes, I'm a doctor.

Viney plays.

If he had played last week those two scenarios would have been probable.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
