We saw a sign of things to come today and the fact that we have a ton of improvement ahead of us bodes very well.

The composure shown by the backline today was superb, Pies looked like getting back into the game several times thru the game but we never looked panicked.

Team effort today but particularly impressed by both Wagner and Hunt who look like they belong in the big league.

Exactly. Since Round 2, we've gone back to the NAB challenge game style. No doubt about it. Only managed it for one quarter (the final one) against GWS, but now we attack at all costs and I love it. Okay, we're making mistakes because we're inexperienced back there as you say, but it's a great brand of footy that reminds me of Geelong circa 2007-2011. The coaches and the FD should take their hats off. We've slowly injected pace off half back and don't we look so much better as a result?

In Q2 a C'wood player was paid a mark (probably correctly) which I thought came to ground closer to their goal than the point at which he was paid the mark. He picked up the goal and the umpire called play on as he ran into goal.  Surely he should have been forced to play from behind the mark?  Or did I see it wrongly?

"First quarter and a half was some of the worst footy I've seen us play and we were on track for a 3 figure thumping.

To our credit our effort improved and we showed good fight. Our skills around the ground and at goal hurt though (8 goals 11 to 10 goals 4 after quarter time) and we were too stagnant.

If Melbourne supporters are happy and pumping themselves up after that then they're kidding themselves and will never be anything other than a bottom 4 side. Had we turned up for 4 quarters it's a different game and probably a different result."

He's just starting to find his feet and I think he'll only get better.  It's easy to forget just how much footy he missed last year. The signs are good

He provided another option as a lead up target & is very athletic as we already know. We don't need him to be a world beater, just a chop out for Gawn & Hogan at times. Hopefully this is the start of good things to come. Glad the selectors kept the faith.

I almost broke my face today BBO from smiling at them everytime we dished up a winner.

The only team I enjoy beating more is the Crows.

As I walked out today the joy of seeing their furlorn faces was magic.

On top of that I know they are in for a lot of the same in coming months 

I wonder who they will take with pick 2 in the draft this year.

First half was attack and second half was defence. Wagner has come from nowhere/ Frost easily played his best game today, looked really agile around the ground. Hogan affected contests all around the ground. Bugg's best game. Lumumba's best game in ages. Tyson was particularly good too.Very strong defensive performance, McDonald was the reason the Pies didn't get within striking distance. Interesting that we've kicked so many goals without Garlett in the team, maybe we were kicking it to him too often? We gave the Pies a few goals from poor manning in the 2nd, but other than that we were structured really well around the ground. Hogan dismissed all signs of a lack of confidence/fitting in with his performance today

I really hope this is a start of a stellar streak. We're comfortably in our best form in 5 years but I'm worried it'll be a handful of close losses that'll destroy our finals hopes this season. Long way to go though.

Yep that's me.

To be fair I don't think I ran him down though more just worried about putting in an untried kid. Couldn't have asked for a better effort today.

Yes you're right. I am still basking in the glow of several whiskies and some surprisingly good Chinese beer. I expect to fall into some sort of alcohol induced coma shortly. Hopefully when I wake, it will not have been a dream.
