Garry Lyon & Bill Brownless Feud

These 2 have allegedly had a severe falling out and at one is very unlikely to return to the Footy Show, if not both.

Could be anything, but judging by the way I've seen one of the two have a crack at anything that moves, and the other have a similar reputation, I'm not surprised.

Can someone please post article here if they have access? The normal, "google name + click link" trick doesn't work to get around hun subscription block

No they can't. Read the code of conduct.

Didn't even know there was a code of conduct - I'm overseas and can't access, but thanks Doc.

If true -  confirms everything I've thought about Gary for the past 10 years -  selfish, arrogant, [censored].

Billy surely is not much different by comparison. Many times I've witnessed some less-than-savoury public behaviour by that man.

Not big on details.

It's from Robinson.

The two have had a massive falling-out.

Brownless says unlikely to be able to repair friendship.

Neither of them are currently booked for the footy show and they don't know which of them, if any, will be involved this year.

Both are contracted to MMM, but on different shows.

Brownless has had a tough year including a few stupid comments getting called in the media and his wife leaving him.

That's about it.

From some of what goes on around here I'm not surprised you didn't know there was a code of conduct. It's a thread towards the top on the Melbourne Demons forum page.

Thanks for that RalphiusMaximus, interesting stuff..

I remember seeing Brownless in public a few years ago and someone yelled out in genuine confusion, "HEY LOOK, ITS JASON DUNSTALL!"

Billy wasn't too happy after that

See Robbo has put this story out and I knew once I read it all sorts of stuff will start to spread and rumours will happen. But I wonder when the feud erupted because once footy finishes its a joke on radio that Garry becomes a recluse and doesnt speak to anyone off season and Bill has been away most of the summer.

anyway it will be interesting to see how this does affect the footy show. Its well known the producer spoke to both Sam and Bill about there behavior so this could be a way out to move Bill.

The person stuck in the middle of this will be JB.

If it spells the end of the Footy Show, thank god for that.

When I went back to Oz in 2010 after 6 years away, I wasn't used to the new line up so I found some of their schtick relatively fresh (Up till that point, I was still used to Eddie and Trev) . It was all Garry on the stretcher, Garry doing the warning dance, Garry being hairy.
Then I saw it again... and again... and again...
Then I saw all the lazy use of YouTube footage.
Then I saw Sam Newman remind me of the good old days when you could actually racially vilify people or humiliate them on the grounds of gender.
Then I wondered WTF I was actually watching. How people have watched it for ten years since has got me scratching my head.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
