The biggest mystery surrounding Jayden Hunt is still the question of why he didn't receive a Rising Star nomination last year. Nevertheless, we all move on and if he plays the year out in the form he's shown so far, we might be asking at the end of the season whether he should get an AA nomination.

I'd rather you not deflect and try and drag me into your abject failure re Hunt.  I'm not even sure what you're alluding to, but don't need to know.

We always begged for a lockdown small defender and a halfback with pace that takes the game on.

And from the ashes came Nev Jetta and Jayden Hunt, almost as though the lord himself clicked his fingers and turned them into guns overnight.

Wouldn't sweat being wrong on a developing player DD.

What I'm REALLY looking forward to is the day that Oscar has a breakout game and all the detractors (myself included) are proved wrong on him. Primarily because filling this gap is key to our premiership aspirations.

Probably side swiping this thread somewhat. Apologies to mods and to Hunty (go you good thing).

His breakout game was against the Crows last year.

That Crows game was when people started to take notice.  Before then some people were looking at his negatives rather than his positives, especially on DL.

He put in a stunning performance a few weeks earlier vs Hawthorn.  Threw himself at everything, contested everything and ran like the wind.  I didn't see his earlier games as I was overseas.  But that Hawks game was a ripper and for mine he announced himself that day.

I just wonder, do KPP defenders tend to have "breakout games"?  None particularly spring to mind.  In my mind they just develop and gradually  one realizes that they have come of age.

Surely you do not expect impartiality and even handedness from any entity associated with the parent of the MRP, the AFL?

We all know he was one of the best young players last year (and this) which is all that really matters.

Yep that game in the wet. Even then he didn't get much notice. Hoping ANB has a similar breakout game soon.

I am very rarely proven wrong as I seldom put myself forward as having a better understanding of a players abilities than the FD

I'd watched Hunt in a couple of junior games and in the VFL and spoken to the coaching staff so coukd understand why they persevered

In fact Roos mentioned it wouldn't surprise him if Hunt turned out the best player in that year's crop, or words to that effect.

The development of this kid is phenomenal.  Dare I say it if he continues on the same trajectory could he become Fyfe like?

I'm glad we waited for his body to get right before cutting him. Looks like a star in the making.

Toss up between Hunt and Clarry as to who will be the best player on the list in 2 years time,

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
