Well if you take the 5 above 500k as an average of 600k ($3 million) and the 10 between $100k- $200k as an average of $150k ($1.5 million) you have 15 players getting $4.5 m and the remaining 29 players getting $6 m, or an average of ~$200k each.

I'm reading that as about 9 players between $60-100k, 10 players between $100k-200k, 20 between $200-500k (averaging $265k) and 5 above $500k.

The median would then be somewhere between $200k-$265k.

Effectively, your top 5 players get above $500k.

Your next 10 get $265-500k

And the next 16-25 get $200-265k.

About what it should be, going by salary cap.

No apologies warranted. Where would Demonland be if not for its meanderings ?

We could never adopt a transport system. We derail...... Everything !!

Including SkyRail? There is hope yet ... :)

Barrett just said that the Hawks are keen on Prestia, but are also very keen on Tom Mitchell as well, and there is every chance they could get both with the use of future picks IF they decide to play there.

So much for equalisation, eh?  He didn't say if either wanted to play there, but that the Hawks have already met with Prestia and they are VERY keen on Mitchell.

FWIW apparently front runners for Brad Crouch as well.

They were one of the front runners for Dangerfield last year too, I recall.

Hawks are just the easy one to spruik, because it's believable.

Yup, their mids are getting older so they will need some younger guys to go through there, and ideally they wouldn't drop out of the top 4 in the process so it just makes sense that they'd be after these blokes.

More surgery for O'Meara, has played his last game for 2016.

Will be 23 at the start of next season with 0 AFL games in the last 2 years, while I think he will be a champ if he can get out on the park, the big IF about his body makes me think it would be easy to pay overs.  If we get him cheaply sweet, if not then at least we will not have to worry about his body breaking down again.

Prestia would be my preferred candidate.

I'd be having a very serious look at Brad Crouch, he's in great form at the minute, and his off field stuff seems to have knocked him behing O'meara, Prestia and Mitchell,

I reckon he's very gettable and has the explosive attributes that would really add to our midfield

Really? At least he has been playing this year though.

I don't want this guy unless he is a moderate  cost.

I would want to be very sure he is capable of playing most games over the next three years.

Crouch would do me fine. He's having a top second half of the season. Another ball magnet.

I would say this for both OD.

I am really starting to think we do not need to chase them.

Strong word around the traps is that Prestia has committed to a Tigers on $3.5m over 5.

I loathe that players can basically say 'trade me to x' and it's a given that it'll happen.

That's good money for a bloke with knee issues.

if the prestia-richmond rumour turns out to be true, that will be a surprise. who in their right mind would go there?! the tiges haven't won a flag in decades and don't look to be getting any closer. apart from the cash-moniez, why would a young, talented player join a club with no real future?! i mean, does he like their song, is that why?! admittedly, it is quite good.

If true, very wise of our club not to entertain these sort of dollars with what we have to deal with.

Thought it interesting as well, that Jon Anderson made a connection between ourselves and Hurley just to digress.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
