Should be nothing less than a police matter.

i wonder if it is being considered?

suppose it might need a formal complaint, but a few stern words from the coppers wouldn't go astray. though these days fewer people would take any notice

Rosie Batty says hi!  In this year of all years when violence towards women is trying to be stamped out his actions should not be tolerated.

Well I'd hope that if it had been a man he'd threatened we'd be trying to stamp out violence against everybody.

Where are all the "we should have selected Martin over Scully or Trengove" people now?

YES Martin is a gun on field but he has far too many off field misdemeanors, and quite frankly is a complete F***WITT.

I highly doubt he would have stuck around at the Dees this long anyway, and if he did he would be a poison towards the clubs culture, particularly off the back of the Maloney and Sylvia party days.

"RICHMOND has belatedly taken a much stronger public stance after star Dustin Martin allegedly threatened a woman in a drunken incident.

Tigers chief executive Brendon Gale said in a statement that the Saturday night incident was very serious and it demands a thorough investigation"

Brendon Gale seems a good bloke and I admire what he has achieved at the Tigers.  But he still does not get it!  He says:  "I want to be clear that any threat of physical violence against a woman - or any member of the public for that matter - is completely unacceptable..."

He should have said: Any threat of violence against anyone, anywhere is completely unacceptable.  Anything less looks like tokenism and spin.  Not good enough, I'm afraid.  In this case KB has got it spot on.

I await the day when we hear a press conference to tell us Mr Martin is suffering from depression and for all to show him due respect while he deals with his plight.

will this be to avoid getting publicly done for drug use or to weasel his way into another club, or both?

pathetic isn't it

Held off on posting something similar earlier but Trengove uninjured was the pick of the 3 on ground in my opinion and off the field he is so far ahead it's not funny.

It's no wonder Richmond tried to snag him last year.

Not condoning his alleged behaviour but I see that the court of public opinion had made up it's mind. The guy obviously has some issues but there are some pretty second rate comments on this thread. Let's see what comes from the Tigers investigation and any action taken by the club.

Second rate in comparison to getting stuck in the face with a chop stick.

Also, what part of his behaviour is still only 'alleged'?

But Ern, hasn't he owned up to the "alleged" behaviour by his "apology"???

You've got a point - the calls for castration probably are a tad OTT. But what makes me nauseated is that nothing said so far by RFC or AFL seems genuine, it's all heavily "managed". The spin doctors have centre stage. That old thing about "AFL" and. "Integrity" don't belong in the same sentence.

If we have to rely on KB to be the one who's "tellin' it like it is", it's beyond bad.

Are we taking bets on the outcome?

Tigers flopped again in another final series, they need top 4.

It will be a public apology and donation of money, and wait for it....will miss all pre season games.

Anything from Carrows Arrow??

Seen the figures for how many women have been murdered this year in Australia? It's pretty clearly a problem in itself whether your head is in the sand on purpose or not.

I hope you're not implying that the restaurant is responsible for what eventuated.  Martin knows that everything he does in public is likely to be seen and noted.  Martin knows that drinking too much is not a good look for someone in his position.  Martin threatened to stab a woman in the face with a chopstick and, I believe, punched the wall next to her head Tony Abbott style.  Martin is his own worst enemy and deserves everything he gets... this a very interesting case as they will be torn between finals aspirations and making a stand at a time when violence against women has been very much in the spotlight.  I wonder whether the fact that they have a woman as their President will make a difference when it comes to handing down an appropriate penalty.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
