The Jack Trengove is BACK Thread

Spoke to someone close to jack, he put his hand up to play 2 weeks ago. Selection committee were cautious bringing him in against gcs at metricon (wanted him to play another vfl game) and against the quicker bulldogs.

Initially thought it would mean we had this game in mind. Look to see him in the squad of 25.

I'm still in Papua and will change my flight on Saturday from Denpasar to Melbourne instead of heading back to Perf if Trenners is named.

I'm sure the missus will get over it eventually.

This will be my second game I am able to attend if trenners gets a game I will be stoked, got the number 9 on my jumper because of him and I can already picture him kicking a goal and the crowd going bananas gives me goose bumps, let's hope it happens

Playing Trengove this week would probably see an extra 5000 through the gates.

If our break-even figure is approx 20,000, playing JT this week should see us get to half our breakeven target.

A membership boost as well I'd assume..

What if he were to break down in the first 15 minutes  Steve?

imagine the misses comments then!

She doesn't even know who he is.

All she knows is that I spend far too much time reading Demonland.

Sorry old sport, I'll stick to writing about our backline and boring opinions like your 9,943 posts....NOT

I've been told he has put his hand up, I wen't out on a whim and said "I'm hearing he might play"

Would've thought I murdered someone.

Thinking the same thing. If this is a disciplinary offence then I would start widening the criteria and include anyone who posts rubbish, insults, and other nonsense. That would include me and many other contributors to this site. Don't lose any sleep, although given your Avatar that may be difficult.

What will everyone think if he gets on the ground, and moves as slow as he did when he last played? I understand the excitement, but its possible there might be a let down also.

Hope he does play, and play well.

I'll be just as happy as when a slow, over-weight David Schwarz trudged onto the G against Adelaide.

He was playing on one foot when he last played...

Why the negativity?

Imagine if he came back and played as well as he did in his first season.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
