Chris you must be counting in imperial. in metric if you count the booths it is half that. Now that i think of it imperial makes sense.

There is 50 lanes that I could see, plus the additional lanes on the RHS. It escapes me why motorists aren't travelling on the empty three lane road on the LHS however?

The only thing agile about Levi Casboult is the goal umpires have to be very agile to move 20m to their left or right to put their arm at perpendicular to their body...

We may be focussing too much on the stigma attached to Casboult's poor kicking.

Looking a bit deeper, the facts show he has improved quite a bit since taking on Sav Rocca as a coach in mid April.

Kicked 2:4 in the first 3 weeks of the season. In the other 13 games, he kicked 22:8 in a team that had major deficiencies with forward structure and quality of forward 50 entries. Supposedly 2014 had a lot more OOTF than 2015.

Field kicking has also improved. Disposal efficiency since 2012:

2012 - 57.4%

2013 - 61%

2014 - 70%

2015 - 76.7%

How he fits into the forward structure needs to be considered, but if his goalkicking truly is getting sorted then he is potentially a major upgrade on Dawes as a foil for Hogan. He's clearly a far better contested mark.

I'm not quite as closed off to the idea as I was. He's an improved player.

Wont be able to listen to when they talk about Chris Dawes and Jeremy Howe at 1:00pm. Can someone who is listening tell us what they said?

Typo?

I think it's just a visual metaphor to describe teams placed 7-12 at about round 18 each attempting to squeeze into the final eight.

Ldvc Can we just leave expressions like " Visual metaphor " to the teachers please. ??

Sorry I was referring there to field kicking - disposal efficiency. Fixed.

Not to mention "than", not "then"... another of my pet hates (grammatically speaking).

Typo?

yeah maybe, but that then ruins his argument of improvement over 2014 (70%)

edit: forget that. he has explained it wasn't goal kicking efficiency figures but overall disposal figures

I heard they put a massive offer to Charlie Dixon that's just my mail.

If true and we land him, I'll drop my case for recruting Casboult.

I'm sure we could satisfy GC and Dixon financially, but Dixon chose Port due to his previous relationship with Hinkley.

Freo offering two first rounders for Cam McCarthy

Vintage Ross Lyon, mortgaging his teams future for his own gain. He will leave Freos list in the same state he left the Saints

How is he mortgaging his team's future by trading first round picks for a 20 year old CHF who has runs on the board? McCarthy has another 10 years left! Very simplistic assessment you've made. Bennell is only 22 as well, it's not like they're bringing in Hodge and Lewis for a one year tilt.

Wait we did?? Any figures mentioned?

Adam Tomlinson also potentially in the mix for a tall. Contracted, but adamant he's walking. Carlton favourites, but Dees interested.

Love you Chook! Can you confirm our interest in Dixon also?

How long does he want to wait before having a chance to play finals?

If he wants to wait an extra two years, he should go to Carlton.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
