Brett Anderson who is usually relible just tweeted this and Toumpas set to go back to SA.

Rated kennedy highly as a junior. Dominates the 2s and is fan favorite with the pies but frustrated at Bucks for not giving him more opportunities.

Similar player to Kent... Not sure what we'd have to give up for him but I see Kent infront of him as that small forward/midfield role. Doesn't fit the Roos "tall mid" profile

Missed significant time with glandular fever this year, but when fit has pace and can kick goals. Will probably offer more on the outside than Toumpas was able to.

Has shown a willingness to work hard defensively and I know the Dee's rated him very highly in his draft year.

Wonder whether this will be part of a Jeremy Howe deal or whether we will on trade a pick we receive for Toumpas (2nd rounder?).

Had the same reaction to Melksham. Meh. Just waiting for the "but he's better than M.Jones, Terlich, Bail and Riley, and will add to our depth".

They are out in full force today. An upgrade to Matt Jones and Dean Terlich? Talk about aiming high!

Gavin Brown couldn't kick 40 meters.

I actually rate Kennedy, good young player who can break the lines and kick goals.

Actually think he could be a good pick up.

and how much of a hole in our side did Kent leave when he went down injured, We lacked line breaking speed without him and his pace in and around wing/hf to create turnovers. I was a critic of Kent last year and before as I felt he was not working hard enough to reach his potential with the tools he had at his disposal. Before he went down injured he showed enough to suggest the penny had dropped and he was looking at having a good year.

What Kent getting injured did was amplify our lack of line breakers who can run between mid and forward, Kennedy offers that and you can't have to many of them on your list because sometimes you need to play two of them and have the depth to pick sides to beat the differing oppositions week to week.

Kennedy is a good user of the footy

Has good acceleration

Has very good cruise speed

Is a good decision maker in traffic

Good get for mine at the right price

Are we now collecting Kennedy's

I really liked Kennedy in his under 18 year. Wouldn't be opposed.

Me too. Was very much hoping we'd draft him back then. Perhaps it's worked out for the best though.

If we were to send Howe over to Collingwood, I'm not sure I'd be content with just Kennedy back. Does have potential but is very unproven.

Straight swap for Toumpas.

It's meh, but I'll probably take it.

Left footer and speed at least gives us something different.

Still torching it at VFL level just can't adapt to AFL yet (and maybe never).

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
