Just putting out some love for jack. His breakout year has somewhat gone under the radar given hogan and other youngsters coming up but he was unbelievable this year and it's been highlighted now with almost winning the BnF off 16 games! He hasn't even played 50 games yet! We have an absolute beauty here and I believe he will lead us to success.

Some stats:

No 1 average tackles. 6.6 - next highest vince with 4.8

No 1 ave contested possessions. 12.1 - next highest vince 10.2

No 1 ave clearances 5.6. - next vince 5.2

No 1 ave centre clearances 2.4. Next jones 1.5

Another preseason and a full 22+ games next year and watch out! I'm confident he will become a genuine A grader. With confidence his disposal will continue to improve.

Love him. Just needs to keep improving his disposal and start hitting the scoreboard more. If he does this, he'll be A grade.

His attack on the footy and aggressive tackling is something to behold. His love for the jumper is so evident in the way he plays and I have no doubt he'll be leading the team in years to come.

And all of this including breaking his leg during the year.

Another positive this year was his ability to tag out some of the best midfielders in the game including Ablett, Selwood and Steven....and go on to gather lots of the footy himself.

Hopefully he gets a free run at it next year.

There's a few who might be equal with him, but there's no one harder than him in the AFL.

I reckon that's awesome.

Also Jones might lead by example, but I think Viney might be the drill sergeant. We need that type of player who demands respect.

To anyone thinking about dredging up comments from the pre-season where posters predicted Jack would struggle to be best 22....

... this is the place to do it

I didn't, but I wouldn't be admitting to it in any case.

He might read here and come looking for me

Who was the person who said his career was at 'the crossroads?' That was my favorite...

What i like is that he is hard at it but not a thug, just genuine courage......old school.

Pretty sure I said something about him needing to get more of the ball to justify his place in the team. His average disposals only went up by two, but I think that's largely because he started the year slowly. Once he clicked in the second half of the season he was regularly up around the 30 mark which is where we need him to be.

He had a lot weaknesses in his game before this season. Viney only had one pace, I wouldn't knock anyone who raised doubts about JV prior to this year. In saying that, his ability to identify his weaknesses and work on them should be commended. He was rewarded by a top 2 finished in the B&F, that is a great effort.

Probably now more important to us than Jones and Vince given their age. Viney is primed to lead the next crop of players when Jones and Vince hang them up.

Another interesting insight from Jesse Hogan's dad was that next to Jack Viney's hardness and natural mongrel, Jesse thinks Christian Salem has the same set of lovably nasty attributes!

Somebody please post the gif of his tackle on the StKilda player because that sums up Jack completely

I dearly want Jack to do this to Dustin Martin in the 2016 Preliminary Final.

Salem is hard as nails. He is a great tackler, does all the 1%ers. Viney, Salem and Brayshaw in the guts is a relentless midfield.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
