Personally, I'll never be 'stoked with a loss'. I'm always disappointed, even when there was no expectation that we'd win. 30 points is a bit easier to handle than 100 though.

True, maybe stoked was the wrong word. But if for example St Kilda were going over to Perth this weekend and took it right up to Freo and lost by less than 30 points, half of Demonland would be saying how amazing their rebuild has been , how easily they leapfrogged us and how awesome their kids are.

Expecting Freo to have some late withdrawals from their side.

Time to give tired players a rest before finals ( Fyfe), yet not be so obvious about it like they did last year!

Triple m saying toumpas signed for 2 years

Good to see the club's backing him in.

Reckon we'll get within 4 and if they're not switched on we could snatch a memorable win.

Love your work rtg. You're one dees fan who isn't cloaked in a veil

a repeat of the last 3 weeks - absolutely smashed and embarassed in the first half then a false semi-comeback as the opposition rests on their laurels

just looking at the team sheet ... Garland, Howe, MJones, Michie, Cross, ANB, Garlett, Spencer, OMac, Gawn, Watts, Stretch, Newton and Grimes

That's 14 blokes who are either ineffective kids or seniors who are guilty of some atrocious footy this season. No reasonable person could expect a decent performance out of any of them to be quite blunt.

the line should be around 100 for mine

I expect that they will play their guts out. After Roos comments about negative fans I expect them to bleed this week. Don't actually care about the result but do care about the effort. We are playing a very, very good team but its a team that rarely kills oppositions as Lyons appears to only want to win and they quite often shut down when the game is in their control. I am expecting to be within 5-6 goals at the end. To me, considering the opposition, that would be a good result. Opening a red at the start of the game

It's going to be greasy conditions with the odd shower of rain passing through. Can't see it being completely dried out before this arvo.

Expect a scrappy, low scoring game.

I was completely wrong with the above forecast.

I've just got off the field myself from playing Masters footy and it's dry, warm and a little breezy.

Played against Des Headland and Dale Kickett.

We came second. :(

There's zero chance we'll be within 10 goals. I just hope Hogan kicks a bag.

Backs against the wall... Inspirational skippers 200th game... Playing a side who's renowned for putting the cue in the rack at this time of year in prep for finals... Still lose by 10+ goals

Do you play in the rep games? I am playing in the over 55 this year and the rep games are brilliant. The lower levels get a bit fair dinkum but the old guys games are fun.

Tbh I have forgotten what it's like to enjoy watching the footy and supporting a team that plays in the finals. I do miss that feeling.

Footy is such a chore and it shouldn't be.

Grimes the sub

Roos doesn't understand the sub. Pointless having Grimes as the sub.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
