Not that this sort of stuff phases me anymore, but I remember the first time I heard Carlisle talk, and within the first sentence, you could tell the bloke was a complete bellend.

There should be a provision strictly forbidding clubs with Academy or Father/Son commitments from completing trades where only picks are exchanged. Trading picks for players is fine, but giving up a top 10 pick for multiple second rounders to bid on Academy players is clearly manipulating the system. It opens a can of worms that would allow Academy teams to collude behind the scenes and draft tamper. For example, Sheedy's relationship between Essendon and GWS could play a part in this.

Is there a provision which stops Academy clubs from trading out all their first and second rounders for established players, then hoard a bunch of third rounders to use for Academy bidding? It's the equivalent of paying for a car with a jar of 5c coins.

Still think this??

Saintsational forum a chuckle. A sample:

"If I didn't have 30 years of f*** ups to deal with I wouldn't get paranoid. G Train and Steve Lawrence drove an unregistered car into a wall at South land, Milne, School Girl, Dwarves, Gram.....after Lovett we should have put a ban on dealing withe those f*** wits."

Wow I missed the story but am just reading about it on the net. So did he post it to a friend as has been reported and if so what a dumb arse. I mean in todays social media world of course it will get out Don't the AFL players PA and the players have an agreement there is to be no testing on illicit drugs on there time off? I may be wrong.

If it turned out to be him and his mates have sold it what great friends he has.

I bet the saints are on the phone right now asking some questions. This is where the confidential part in the drugs policy is wrong. I mean if this turns out to true and he gets a strike imagine if he was sitting on 2?

I know this isnt illegal but also wasnt he seen smoking this season around the place and not really hiding it. I know its not a big deal but that would affect your fitness.

The ACA report said he filmed himself then sent it 'snapchat' to a mate who filmed it on another mobile.

They rang his manager yesterday (ie before the trade) to tell him what was in the video.

StK apparently said the manager failed to tell them it was going public (not sure if it means the manager told them of its existence or told them nothing at all). Naive of StK to think it wouldn't get out if ACA had it.

ACA gave Carlisle an out saying it could be a hoax.

Have to agree with Neil Mitchell: the man (Carlisle) must be stupid!

Poor old saints.
Got stung with ex St.Kilda footballer Andrew Lovett the rapist.
Now new saints recruit Jake Carlisle snorting drugs.

Any-one that deals with the scum would have to have rocks in their heads.
Oh, hang on .........

A lot of talk on the Saints board about trades having a "cool off" period and not being officially approved by the AFL until after tomorrow's deadline.

Seems a bit of a mess they've gotten themselves into. I never saw the appeal of Carlisle and clearly he had attitude problems (not that you can blame him). Eh.

I get the impression the majority of the mainstream media is not sure how legit this is, given its relative silence on the matter. But even more puzzling is the lack of statement so far from the Saints.

Some respected Saints person tweeted that they're in "crisis talks" and Carlisle might "have the shortest career as a Saints player in history."

He's owned up to it, nothing will happen apart from a fine

The worst part about all this was having to watch the Current affair story. Damn that show is just painful to watch.

Horrible show but can be like watching a car crash

He grew up in Craigeburn FFS, that's all that needs to be known

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
