Always wondered who the other supporter there was....

Its pathetic they allow about 100 opposition supporters in.

I was there with a mate in the area that Target have their seats, there was one other Melb supporter in front of us and the rest Geelong.

Was great!

Given what the bench is I'd go with Riley as sub, M. Jones, Spencer & Terlich as emergencies with Spencer the carry over player.

I was initially calling for Michie to be dropped, but instead I reckon give him this game to rotate through midfield & half back. If he has another shocker he'll be VFL bound for the rest of the year.

Another shocker? Seriously he played 21 minutes last week and yes had no bearing on the game. But he was the only person who went spare in defense last week after Howe put us in front, until Cross came on at the last ball up and told him to get out. The blokes on 360 pointed this out and questioned why Cross did that. At least he has a footy brain. He has every right to lack confidence given he gets 1 game on and 1 game off. I hope he says naff it all and goes into the forward line a few times this week instead of being the defender mid field. He' has done it at Casey and it showcased his ability. I personally would play him permanent HBF. Might be slow but has an excellent footy brain.

They can't continue to drop Michie and bring him up every 2nd week and expect to make an impact. Give him 6 games in a row to see what he can offer. Im a fan of his and he has been unfairly treated.

You have hit the nail on the head here dazzledavey. Give the poor bloke a chance to show his true form. Very unfair if he is dropped after one game AGAIN!

Not a bad match up. Watts has the tank to go with him apparently. Make him be defensive on a player who has really improved.

That's the key, he may have a good tank for a big man, but does he have a good enough tank to play his game and run with a bloke of the quality of Bernie Vince?

if left alone Bernie in his current form could cut the cats to ribbons

I'd stick Bernie on Selwood. Bernie would be terrific at sucking him in all game and is smart enough not to give away cheap, silly frees. Nullifying Selwood will go along way to helping us stay in the contest.

Given Spencer probably won't play with Gawn, no Fitzy or Pedo to be 2nd ruck hurts. Bench should probably be Terlich, ANB, Riley and Jones

So no ruck support at all for Gawnius maximums unless Spencil gets in....couldn't have his as sub though.

Hope he is up to it

Pretty scant pickings really....bloody injury list.

I agree, but i think the same principal applies to whoever plays on Blitz, if our team defence is strong then his opponent should run off, i don't think he is capable of staying with them

but i do agree that stopping selwood goes a huge way to stopping Geelong

What about Viney to Selwood aka the ducker.

Not a bad idea either really. Is Bernie a little more disciplined than Viney though? We know Selwood loves to snipe at players, duck his head etc, would he be able to suck Viney in a little easier than Vince?

Probably but would be good to c Viney put him on his arse after Selwood sucker punches him.

I think the lack of discipline might be a positive from Viney, if Selwood ducks his head Viney is likely to take it off

We are venturing down to Geelong and meeting some relatives, I just hope the boys put in a decent performance, and keep my fingers crossed that the cats are being complacent after their good win over Port last week. One can only dream!

nah put Viney on him. Vince is a lot taller and is more likely to get Selwood high. Definitely Viney.

I feel like everyone is saying we're going to get smashed, but deep down they all know Geelong are overrated and this game is going to be a lot closer than expected.

Geelong certainly don't have their strongest side in and they are battling a few key injuries... but then so are we. If we turn up to play then it will be closer than some expect. If not it could be a bloodbath.

Geelong are past there best but they still have great disposal & don't miss targets, we will look like schoolboys

Like your optimism M but I highly doubt it.

At our home ground could be a contest but Geelong own that bloody ground. Even in the good old says we had trouble. We need a full strength side in form to make a contest.

we kicked 5 goals at the G last year

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
