POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 11

Whether we won or lost it makes no difference. A kick here or there represents no discernible differential.

The Saints are rebuilding after a few grand finals and they're as good as us who have been rebuilding for a decade. That's what's gutting. Roos has been great for the club, buy I actually wish this was his last year. He's too negative about our past and this has to have some rub off on the players. He's always talking about where we've been. And I'm sick of it.

They are still heavily reliant on Riewoldt, when he bows out they will be in strife. I suppose McCartin is there waiting, but he ain't no Hogan.

Riewoldt could be 80 years old and in a wheelchair and still take us to the cleaners in a game. Great player, a freak, who always destroys us.

That tap from Gawn was the loser.

It was tapped behind him almost like the saints called to him.

Fro that time all over Red Rover.

FML. Just comes down to silly mistakes and the collection of little moments in the game doesn't it.

We played pretty well overall I thought, better than the usual tripe.

I want more meaningful impact out of Tyson, he just cruises through games.

Had anyone noticed Hogan can't kick 50 metres?

It's almost getting to that stage of the year where it becomes pointless winning games and you just want to see effort and a close-ish contest.

Sure cattle average, aptitude suspect....but given that the application of said assets was.....deplorable

Dumb football all round for most of the game.

Players just look to handpass as the first option too often, no one shepherds, our forwards come too far up the ground so there is no one to kick it to. If we won I'd be happier but it would simply be covering up a lot of mistakes that happened throughout the whole game.

Can't believe comments like this. I am as angry and gutted as anyone but Jones is far from being a dumb footballer.

If anything he has to do too much - he still needs more midfield support.

Damn right he's dumb.

Plan A - Get ball and bomb it into forward line.

Plan B - Get ball and bomb it into forward line.

When pressure comes on .... Go missing.

And don't get me started on McDonald.

There were some serious positives, the issue is the seriousness of the errors

The increase in errors across the last two weeks is particularly worrying.

Over 100 more hand balls and most of them just dumb an foolish under pressure. This club continues to make the same mistakes stuff around with the ball and turnover kings under every coach that comes to the club.

I make a promise to this club. Never ever go to watch them play again at Etihad , and stop going to watch them play Hawthorn.

And also include Geelong on that list.

Hmmm...maybe I need to revise all games against almost every club.....

I will put money on Carlton thrashing us as well.

Another bottom 4 finish how exciting for all of us yet again!!! Thanks MFC you know better than any club how to kill off supporters by June every season.

Like I have said before on this same board... The class of 2008 onwards will not be the one's to take this club forward.
Looking at Hogan and Brayshaw, you can just tell that they have the spunk that makes a great player.
Most of our blokes from the Bailey and Neeld eras look as though they feel as though they need to apologize for getting on the pitch in the first place.
I won't accept this stuff about Roos. I lived through 2011 and saw the criticism leveled at Bailey who in reality was in his second year of real coaching (the first two years of his tenure had him following CS's and CC's mandates). We sacked him after 186 and then fell into the bottomless pit that we have yet to climb out of. Now after 1 and a half seasons in charge, apparently this is PR's fault.

To even consider that Roos caused this problem or is even contributing to it cheeses me off no end.

St Kilda have drafted very well.

Those nuggety, strong, skilled MIDFIELDERS will hold them in good stead.

St Kilda are in trouble. We smashed them in all the key stats today. They were pretty well drilled and we made far too many clangers. Almost 50, by the way. I'm not up with the records, but can anyone tell me if that's some kind of record? We halve our clangers and we win. As simple as that.

Youd think the $1.5 milllon per year supercoach would have drilled decent skills into the side by now and cut dumb mistakes out of our game

Yeah we lost but no need for overreacting. As long as our young core of players; brayshaw, viney, salem, hogan, Tmac, Tyson, kent, jkh, stretch, ANB, toumpas, petracca etc stick together the pain we have faced over the last 10 years may just be worth it.

Anyway can still see us winning 6-8 games this year, surely thats acceptable for a team who 2 years ago were playing some of the worst football ever played by an AFL club.

Did anyone else watching on TV see Roos screaming into te phone for the players to get back? Don't think he was impressed, and that was well before the centre bounce even happened.

On field leaders were deplorable at that point.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
