Changes vs the Saints

Fair points, and If you break it down stats wise, then yes you could argue we've been better than St Kilda.

But I just feel that they seem to be tracking better than us, have less injuries, have been better than us against the good sides (ie. Hawthorn, West Coast, Adelaide), less form fluctuations than us and haven't hit the horrible lows that we have.

I think they will be a bit too good for us on Sunday.

You have a serious case of "grass is greener" syndrome I reckon, BBP. They're the worst side we've faced since Gold Coast in round one. The Richmond and Bulldogs teams we beat were much better.

If this game isn't very, very winnable, then no game is winnable.

you could argue that at the start of the year next year:

B: Jetta - Dunn - Garland

HB: Howe - T. McDonald - Salem

C: vandenBerg - N Jones - Vince

HF: Watts - Dawes - Kent

F: Frost - Hogan - Garlett

Foll: Gawn - Tyson - Viney

I/C: Trengove - Brayshaw - Petracca

Sub: JKH

is our best 22...

(cross presumably having retired.)

easily arguable that if not best 22, those injury list players would be in our top 25.

Cross will go around again. He's having a brilliant season for a player of his age.

He's still pretty new. Your first year or two is like having immunity at Demonland

Give him more time to disappoint us and he will be copping it like the others

Not sure that's right at all, mate. Jimmy Toumpas says hi.

I thought fitzy did his job on his man who got bugger all of the ball. he made one silly mistake, where a few others made several. I would keep him to get him working harder at AFL level. The saints have a few talls so unless frost is ready to come back he should stay. Matt jones out, Vanders unfortunately looks injured and maybe give pigdog a rest with Casey. In comes Grimes, Tyson and maybe give ANB a run.

Didn't Fitzy play most of the game in White? Thought he demolished White.

He's not on the current AFL injury list, (vandenBerg is) and I've read it was just a corky.http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2015-06-10/afl-injury-update-round-11

Despite rumours that Christian Salem has undergone a setback, he's only listed as one week. Hopefully he'll be back after the bye.

Any news about Viney????

Was a cork, which was why they let him play the rest of the game. There is no way if there was even a slight suspicion of fracture they would have kept him playing.

The problem is that St. Kilda at their best seem to be as competitive and as able as us to win games. Our seasons are remarkably even so far. The big problem for us is Etihad. They know it, more problematically we know it. I see them as less psychologically brittle than us in general, and Etihad is a big part of our recent historical burden. I'm trying to imagine us winning on Sunday, and it's just not adding up for me. It's a funny old season though!

This. He's not diminishing at all, as in the way Fletcher and Harvey aren't. Absolutely no reason he won't play next year, and he is a huge exemplar to the young midfielders, which they frequently mention.

I think it would be a great win for the club and a massive step in the right direction if we can knock off St Kilda.

I get the feeling some on here are underestimating the rapid improvement of St Kilda compared to the 2014 rabble version. I hope our players rate them higher.

Roos presser (just finished) mentioned that Vanders has a slight hammy strain, that Tyson should be in and that Dawes is likely to come back via Casey. No mention of any further injury to Salem.

Roos: Every week's a challenge for us, we know that... for us it's just working on the things we did poorly and reinforcing the positives.

Roos: We need to play our best football against St Kilda - we were better on the weekend but we're weren't quite good enough to win.

Roos says he doesn't look back at our record at Etihad Stadium - we're always looking forward.

Roos: We spoke about (Oxley) at half time but we couldn't get it done as a group.

Roos: I've got to take responsibility - maybe I wasn't clear enough with the players (about managing Oxley)

PR: The main responsibility is to explain to the players why the game was lost & work on those areas that we consistently need to get better

For some weird reason, when I try to copy and paste the rest from Twitter, nothing is pasting.

exactly where Dawes should be playing this weekend.

His form before the injury was poor.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
