Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tyson was better off playing a full game at Casey to gain some match fitness not as the sub.. And no Brayshaw will not be rested this week. I dare say they will be managing his workloads during the weeks anyway

Sometimes you got to select the team to win.

I'm all for management (Brayshaw this week) but Tyson could have been the difference in the last.

What's better for the team- QB win or Tyson regaining match fitness at Casey?

I understand the resting Brayshaw philosophy.. But there is a bye around the corner and the evidence is pretty clear, the kid is getting better and running out games better than early in year. He is the exact type that gets more out of playing.

Orrrrr Tyson could have re-injured himself seeing the sub ended up playing half the game.

How does that go for your "management" policy?

I wonder how long before Kent and Frost become "season"

They have been five weeks ever since they were injured.

There is only 12 weeks to go.

Kent was originally 10-12 weeks... Misson has said all along he has been ahead of schedule but by the time 5 weeks is up and he regains match fitness thats 8 weeks, might be back for the last 3 or 4 games

I bow to your superior knowledge JV7

Those figures look season ending to me.

My management policy is pretty simple:

First year player- perhaps don't rely on him to win games Hogans Heros.

Fourth year player- is given plenty of time to recover, bring in as sub to help win important game.

Irrelevant about further injury, that could happen anywhere. Match fitness? Team win first.

Which players would make us better?

Chris Dawes - POSSIBLY

Sam Frost - POSSIBLY

Jay Kennedy-Harris - NOT AT THIS STAGE

Dean Kent - YES

Christian Petracca - ONE WOULD ASSUME YES

Christian Salem - YES

Jack Trengove - HOPEFULLY, POSSIBLY, BUT WHO KNOWS IF HE EVEN CAN RETURN

Aaron vandenBerg - YES

I doubt many agree with me re JKH, but I feel he still has a lot to learn and improvement to make before he is in our current best 22.

In regards to JKH, i would say

Tyson hasn't played since round 7 and has missed large chunks of seasons due to injury.

You say management and then you say "team win first". Ridiculous.

you could argue that at the start of the year next year:

B: Jetta - Dunn - Garland

HB: Howe - T. McDonald - Salem

C: vandenBerg - N Jones - Vince

HF: Watts - Dawes - Kent
F: Frost - Hogan - Garlett

Foll: Gawn - Tyson - Viney

I/C: Trengove - Brayshaw - Petracca

Sub: JKH

is our best 22...

(cross presumably having retired.)

easily arguable that if not best 22, those injury list players would be in our top 25.

Looks a pretty decent 22 - dream that they may all get on the park together

Christian Salem has apparently re injured his other hamstring and could miss another 4 weeks.

Is this fact or are you talking out of your ass again like you were regarding Vineys scans?

Stuie, management isn't only taking the safest option.

If Tyson played as sub instead of M Jones do you think the result might be different? I'd say there's a significant chance. M Jones isn't an impact player, Tyson is.

People here want Roos to stop making excuses, start going after wins. I agree with that, certainly to the extent of putting Tyson in that position.

That game is over - I'm saying resting Brayshaw will be considered but is a totally different case to Tyson.

I think most supporters will lose interest for the foreseeable future if we drop this game:-

In - Dom Tyson, Jack Grimes

Out - Aaron vandenBerg (injured) , Matt Jones

Speak for yourself. We are a team in transition and the reality is we are transitioning to the Goodwin era. There are a host of things to be of great interest to the serious supporter that understands winning is only one goal of this period. I look forward to much more in every game and I will do so to the end of the year.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
