Hoping the likes of Brayshaw and Hogan make today's game more entertaining to watch than last years game.

If Collingwood win today they'll have 7 wins and they will literally have beaten the 7 bottom sides on the ladder.

They're nothing special.

Richmond and the Bulldogs are better sides and we beat them, easily. If our players remember that, and don't view the QB stage plus the big crowd and the opponent as being more meaningful than they actually are, then we are absolutely in this.

I didn't. He just hasn't been the same in the 8 games since.

That was his 200th game and he really lifted for it.

Just hope playing his old side gives him the extra motivation to lift again and continue for the season, not just a cameo game.

Hasn't hit some of the heady heights with the Pies but then he is surrounded by players who also dont rank as highly as he had around him there so I dont think you can expect "like for like" form every match playing in this list.

I still rate him though. Very highly when played in his traditional position off HB. Not sure he is suited to any mid field focussed role and woildn't rate him as highly when asked to play a role there.

The AFL ratings also has him right up there ranked 13 out of approx 120 small/medium defenders (and rising). Approx one quarter of the matches used for that rating have been with the MFC now.]

Blues skies and a huge crowd building outside of the G. Its almost like a finals type atmosphere.

Just hope the boys can get up today and experience that real winning feeling in front of a big crowd!

Cmon Dees!

Blood spilt for Danners today Demons

Do not care how you do it.

Contest by Contest

For God Sake kick goals. Just take 'em on

I think the Demonland wrist-slitting will give us enough spilled blood. We probably won't need any more.

I thought we played quite well last year.

We were fairly close near 3/4 time when the umpire for some inexplicable reason denied Bernie's goal after marking and playing on.

Then the pies kicked a goal just before the siren so it was a 2 goal swing.

We couldn't get our mojo back.

We have a better team this year so expecting a much closer result.

Could go either way.

Just finished a bike ride and will be heading to the G with Son of bjDee. Heartened by the great wins of Tiges on Friday and Scorps on Saturday. Here's hoping the Dees turn up today and give it a massive crack.

That's part of the the problem, as soon as something goes against us we go into a melt.down. Edited by america de cali

FINAL TEAMS

Collingwood vs Melbourne

Jarrod Witts OUT for Collingwood, replaced by Ben Kennedy

Subs:

Collingwood: Ben Kennedy

Melbourne: Matt Jones

oh yeah I called the ruckman late change. Now we look too tall with Fitz.

Could MFC potentially make the change of Grimes for Fitzpatrick now or is it too late?

Always seem to go in too tall!

it would be good to see the final team before submitting your own. But unless you pull a "injury in the warm up" I think that's all we can do. We look far too tall now.

Great to see such a good turnout for Cure MND and lets hope the boys give us a win to cure depression in long suffering Melbourne fans.

Worried that they've dropped one of their talls, yet Fitzy is still in. Feels intentional from Collingwood.

Not a good marking day with this wind. I reckon the dees will be competitive but it does not bode well for Hogan and his marking prowess. 2 to 4 goals the pies.

Looks like Fitz will play forward and be our second ruckman. Warming up with Gawn in the middle.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
