Oh god, Scandal'Us. That memory was long buried.

Biggest game of the season so far. Up for grabs: two in a row for the first time since Adam was a lad, a win in front of a developing fanbase, momentum into QB, and a general statement to the competition that last week was no fluke.

Port will be up for this one, but bring the same effort as last week and we can roll them.

2011 against Tigers we won 2 in a row, from the team playing this week only Watts Garland Jones Howe played.

Lets end this crap

I'm tipping the Dee's comfortably this weekend.

For the first time in a long time I've had mates texting me regards their tips/bets and asking, "so are your boys a chance against the Power?"

Bloody oath we are.

Melb v Port; Jetta, Viney for Riley, Newton. Stewart, Broadbent, Clurey for Cornes, Ryder, Trengove.

Sigh. Newton and Riley >>>>>>>>>>>>> Bail and M Jones

Ryder out is helpful, but I don't really see the need for Fitz now, despite how well he played.

I like the selections. Good role players hold their position.

Poor ol' Riley

SO happy to have Jetta and Viney back.

Fresh legs will be key here, so glad Tyson is getting another week. He'll be ripe to rip it up against Collingwood hopefully.

Hard to complain about the team changes. Realistically everyone played well last week and don't deserve to be dropped, but you don't leave quality on the table.

I'm scarily optimistic, which is a bad sign.

Might go stand outside before the game and hope a bird pees on me again. Was great luck last week.

I agree, but they played their role last week as the defensive forward and keep their spots. Those two won't last much longer.

Happy with the changes as well, Jetta and Viney instantly make us a better side. Quietly confident about this one as we generally play Port well.

hell yes Jetta and Viney are BACK

Matt Jones will be a late withdrawal, Newton or Riley to come in

I expected the two ins but the two outs surprise me!!

Same. Not what I'd have done, but I've long since stopped pretending I know more than the coaches.

Happy to roll with it. It looks like a best attempt at like for like (with the ins being clear top 22 players), so I'm comfortable with the logic.

It's still an upgrade on a team that had a good win. Really looking forward to this one now.

Two excellent ins. Surprised Bail retains his spot ahead of Riley who could not have done much more when he subbed on but he kept Johannisen to 11 after 25,24,20 the 3 previous weeks. Jones job was good on Murphy and expect the same on Pittard. Aside from the occasional midfield goal I have found Newton somewhat underwhelming so far. Its great to talk about with changes it strengthening the side rather than switching deck chairs on the titanic.

Anyone think fitzy could be a late out now that Ryder isn't playing ? There isn't an obvious match up for him. He was excellent last week so would be hard to leave him out but the game style Port plays we would be better with another mid

I'm happy with the changes also, as long as Viney and Jetta are 100%.

Newton don't impress me last week, so not disappointed there.

I'd love Roos to explain how he uses the sub position. it appears he doesn't like using players as sub two weeks in a row and unless the sub gets significant game time, he doesn't rate 4th quarter cameos, however energetic they appear.

Looking forward to Saturday.

Just guessing, Bail and Jones possess speed and endurance for negative roles.

Could take Monfries.

Could take Monfries.

I'd say

McDonald - Westhoff

Dunn - Schulz

Jetta - Wingard

Garland - Monfries

Port have bought in Paul Stewart so maybe Fitzy goes to him

Bail is a spud! Got no idea why he is in the team. How many years has he been on the list? Spud!

You obviously did not see him play last weekend!

These sort of comments are getting really old and boring.

Get over it.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
