Disappointed with the result, but I really enjoyed that game.

Missed shots from Garlett and Hogan really hurt. Frost missed a bit of a sitter too.

And the Watts-nesia is back - how exactly is he responsible for the second goal after his eff up? We decry a weak minded team and yet we allow them to sacrifice their resident scape goat to avoid blame for a concentration lapse that led to the second goal. Lumumba didn't read the play, Vince was too busy trying to pull a free, etc.

I would have pulled Watts and Dawes if I knew it was going to rain so heavily, what did Roos think he was going to get from these two - Watts is the prototype for 'dry weather footy' and Dawes struggles to take a grab as it is; moisture isn't going to help him...

Aside from these two distractions - we were tough and solid and relentless and mistake prone and lacking polish.

I am starting to begin to like the season again - assuming we come out on ANZAC day eve with the identity we have had for 10 quarters of this year: fighters.

Watts was not the difference but did allow the crows some momentum... Bottom line the gap between his worst & best is too big

Totally agree. Dons win by 21 against a Blues unit that raised th white flag this week and the headline is "Dons Scape past Blues".

And we fight out an honourable 25 pt loss to a rampant Crows and the headline is "Crows wipe Dees in wet"

I saw that too and it was great to see. Had the guts to calm him down and get in his ear about it. The kid will be fantastic for us going forward.

Really annoyed by the write up on the game on the AFL website, obviously a crow supporter, I thought we had a real dip today and the margin flattered the Crows, however and a big however, we rreally should have won that, players went missing in crucial times to point where I thought they must be injured, I point the finger squarely at watts, Vanders, kent, Tyson, Salem....It was left to the usual warriers, McD, Garland,Jones et al. Stop the drift in concentration and we win that one...Man that was really winable.

Point the finger at Watts yes he is a 98 game veteran. But to put things in perspective.

Vanders 3 games.

Kent 31 games

Tyson 35 games

Salem 15 games.

All these guys are all under 40 games. Its a big difference you can' just expect these young players to continue week after week play consistent footy. Doesn't work like that. I will also add JKH Newton Hogan Brayshaw. The quicker we get games into these guys the better we will run out games more.

We were good today. Brayshaw should not have been the sub, but I don't have an opinion on who should have been. The most disappointing thing for me was the many times we were out and did not use the numerical advantage. Too many times players ran forward of the play instead of shepherding for teammates to get them past the Crows players.

Garlett and (to a lesser extent) Hogan missed simple chances. Watts gifted a goal and messed up a simple chance but being weak when Hogan kicked long to a 2-1 and both Watts and Garlett stood and looked at Talia. The umpire paid a non 15 that went close to 20 because he's a nong. Some simple skill errors. Some simple defensive decision making errors (blokes running to the wrong spots).

Drift in concentration sure. Younger players going missing. Nope. Particularly some that you pointed out.

Maybe not our worst, but he's paid nearly the best amount. His job is to kick goals or contribute towards kicking goals. Fail.

once they are on the field it doesn't matter what they are paid. If he is 'not our worst' and plays his role, then that is all that matters. Obviously wasn't wonderful today, but to go on about his salary is irrelevant.

It's just irrelevant not poor form. Got not problem with critique of Bailey's coaching. He's dead. It's sad. Don't attack him as a person but you can critique his job.

No problem with Watts having played 98 games. Don't think Bailey did the recruiting either.

The issue with Watts is Watts. He's had all the coaches, all the positions, all the roles. All the preseasons. It's up to him to show he really wants to be an AFL player. Which means not dropping simple marks.

I really wasn't being critical, just stating a fact, I understand that these players have some learning to do, If we can get less players going missing, and lets face it, lots did last week, the better we will be, I really like the fact we are discussing minor parts of the set up and not throwing our hands up in disgust (like the past few years). I see a great light, but AFL is about being involved for the whole game.

Kent missed a difficult snap. Then had a last q set shot with a heavy ball from 45 on an angle touched on the line. Looked like Jamar the big oath touched it as much as anyone.

Hogan and Garlett missed easier ones.

For a team with not much attacking flowing play 12-15 touches is about right for a half forward. 20 would be better but 20 is elite half forward numbers.
