I believe he went in for some scans yesterday so hopefully we hear soon how that went down.

My question does anyone still have hope Jack can come through this and sti become an important player for us? Is there a chance this year we could see him play any sort of football with Casey or Melbourne.

I think we sometimes forget that in 2010 and 2011 he was talked up as a genuine up and coming young star of the competition. Obviously the captain pressure and then injuries starting to set in and erupted his development.

But lets remember you don't lose talent over night. Personally i think he will come through this and become a fine player for us because a fully fit Jack Trengove would give our playing list and on field performance a significant boost.

I think Trengove needs to mould into a different type of player to make a significant comeback and become an important player for us. With the foot injury he has sustained and the significant pace he has lost and will continue to lose, I think his biggest asset being his marking and ability to spread will be forever hindered by his unfortunate injury. For me, I think Trengove can still make it as a smart inside contestant ball winner/extractor. Hopefully he has done everything right to hit the gym and get his upper body in the best shape it can be and focus on trying to play this brand of footy in which I think he has the capability in doing so.

We all have our fingers crossed for him. With some luck I reckon he can still be a 200 game player - won't be a superstar but hopefully a solid performer.

Its all up to whether his body stands up.

Reading this thread, my one thought is that nobody has a clue.

I wouldn't say he's done, but everything has to go right for him now. To this point it's pretty much been the opposite so he's due for some good fortune.

He's gone for this year, contract comes up at the end of this season so will be interesting to see what's put in front of him by us, and for that matter any other suitors.

For now his focus would just be on rehab, but jeez I hope he comes out of this.

2010 and 2011 he was one of my favourite players for the club, I am hoping with all my might this young kid can make a massive come back. Good guys deserve a bigger break then your Ben Cousins, and criminals who have come back and made an impact. I honestly believe if he comes back he'll be a better player through the anguish he has endured. Fingers crossed JT, im still backing you in!.

If anyone can make a comeback from this Jack can. This kid is made from the right stuff. He is dedicated, determined and is of such character that he was made the youngest ever AFL Captain.

Assuming his navicular fully heals then there is no reason why he can't fulfil the promise of his first two seasons. He should get back some zip and be able to kick goals from outside 50 once again.

Over time we have forgotten how good he was in those first couple of years; 18 disp ave first year, 20 in his second with 4 tackles a game. He was thrown into it and performed.

I still can see him playing a significant part for us in a big final. Perhaps he can go full circle and take the match-saving backline mark like he did as a 17 year old in the SANFL Prelim Final

No-one has a clue and I feel it's disrespectful to write Trenners off at this stage. He has every right to have hope for a good result and deserves our support in going for it.

It would be perfectly understandable if he requested a change of scenary, particularly given that he was nearly traded to Richmond.
