forgive a stupid question but is that only for connections outside Australia?

Yes.

There's probably a way around that, but i don't see that it would be worth it, as I believe it's the same as the AFL's local streaming service.

The international service is $179 per year if you do it through the MFC, or €99 (in Europe) directly through the site.

NAB matches are free, but once the season proper starts, there's only access if you have an account.

Does anyone know if live stream (with or without app) is available for a 'smart TV'? Cheers

Perhaps I should re-phrase that: Does the AFL live stream app work on a 'smart TV' or only on mobile devices?

no - it runs through their AFL Live app.

Thnx. I will get my android tablet hooked into the 'smart tv' and see how that goes and/or find software that can connect the two. Bit difficult to watch a whole game on a tablet/phone.

Should be able to "throw" it to your TV from your android.

Afl are trialling a shot clock count down when someone takes a shot and worst of all the umpires will be broadcast over the PA when explaining free kicks.

Good lord! Should we just call it the NFL now?

According to the AFL, "the big thing will be whether the crowd has any interest. You would expect them to have some interest, especially if time is running out."

This is just a really exciting development - I'm one of those supporters who doesn't care whether the kick registers a goal or a behind, so this will make the whole shot-on-goal experience interesting again..

Thanks AFL.

Interestingly, Dean Kent completed the full session this morning but has not been selected in the squad.

Good to see VanDemon named after his head knock. He was sporting a cracking black eye at training but participated in all drills.

Settled is a good word to use. No injuries from last week means we only need to bring in Pedersen as the third forward which is terrific.

And while I would have loved to have seen Brayshaw being given a run I'm just as happy not to - it shows we don't need to push them too hard. A month of terrific footy at Casey will hold him in good stead going forward.

What's going on with Kent?? Has he signed with someone else? Urinated on a bar? Started using a machete? Taken a banned substance? I have to stop investing emotionally in these players, gets me every time!

Injured heel.

Same squad as last week with Stretch and Fitzy dropping out. Be interesting to see who the 3 are who are left out this week.

I wonder if they'll play Pedo as he might be in for Dawes for rd 1, or if they'll throw Frost around and hope he can fill in for that week??

Anyway I hope they give Dawes a week off or play him in the Casey pracy match (although that might not be until the week later???), and give the Rd 1 fwd a go.

Then I'd guess the other 2 outs will come from Mitchie, McKenzie, Newton, Vandenberg, Bail, Viney, Toump, Corss or M Jones. I love that there's no obvious outs, good competition for the supporting mids (outside the locks in Nate Jones and Tyson).

I have not tried it with the afl app, but it works on my smart TV when viewing videos on facebook or youtube.

Misson said he's a chance this week, don't know if that means via VFL or vs Essendon

He's not named in the squad v Essendon, so I'm guessing he meant Casey.

Posted

Misso said they ideally want 2 1/2 games into most players up for round 1 selection. so I guess the guys who were subbed the last 2 weeks will play full games and the others mgiht be likely to be rested or play a half. I reckon Pedo and Dawes might get a half each

This should be fun, good v evil.

Surely the Drug Lords (evil) don't have a chance, but then again we are Melbourne.

Sorry forgot to put this in training thread, spoke to Kent, his heel was feeling fine, have to see how it is after training, then maybe a run with Casey if it is ok, same as what Misson said, he was limping on Sunday at Family Day so has made a quick recovery, did nearly whole sessiion

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
