FAREWELL JEREMY HOWE

What

I wonder if Sydney will try and get him. They're ridiculously top-heavy with Tippett and Franklin especially on the SCG which gets super bogged down in the wet. One would think Howe would play off of Franklin better than Tippett ever could.

No chance. Sydney are banned from trading for players on above average salaries.

Essentially, he's lazy and only shows up every 4 or 5 games. Other teams can carry that, we can't. Top 10 pick and we'd be laughing.

His stats would indicate that but the club has his GPS readouts. They know what running he does You can't too much on the field any more..

Possibly. Just find his body language on-field quite poor and having gone through the entire Frawley melodrama last year it's hard not to draw parallels.

The biggest parallel is that he's "putting off contract talks until the end of the season". He's as good as gone..

I'd pay $500k to keep him but he would have to sign a 4 year deal. We could front load it and pay him $650 the first 2 years, which would leave him on $350 for the last 2 years.

This would then create a bit of salary cap room when we need to buy someone in a couple of years time when we are WINNING.

Sweet Jesus no! He's worth 350-400 for his entire contract per year. Let's be real about the actual level of player this guy is.

Howe going to GWS would be interesting. The trade wouldn't be for a pick as GWS have two very handy academy players they will draft in with their first two picks. So Howe will likely fetch us a player....Josh Kelly? Not sure they'd do it but one can hope

Not all that impressed with Kelly's performances so far, but it would certainly be ironic.

GWS have basically locked away all their best 22 players, but their depth is extraordinary. They're only really losing fringe players every trade period.

The question was a rather flippant comment about whether he was lazy. The players all wear GPS trackers and the club knows the miles that get logged. Add this to their visual aids and what they see themselves then they are in a great psition to know whether he is lazy, doing what he is supposed to do or falling down in a couple of areas. As i understand it the players get continual feedback about this stuff.

If he was lazy then he would have been told and know what he has to do to fix it. Personally I don't think he is lazy. He has had an ordinary year though.

Howe turned a corner in the Geelong game...Roos said it was his best game since he joined.

What he left unsaid it was Howe's most unselfish, team oriented game ever!

Hence the high praise in is press conf for Howe's no touches in the first half.

Seems like Howe was told: don't even try to mark, let alone take a speccie!

Howe (finally) listened, sacrificed 'his own game' and brought the ball to ground!

Howe may look lazy but it may well be he plays to have fun doing his own thing. ie rather selfish

If he and the rest of the team play unselfish football and we win a few more Howe might want to stay.

Altho if Sir Paul Roos is right the orange people to our north may get to finals faster than us and he may go.

Either way, if Howe continues to help us win games rather than play his own game, I will wish him well.

All part of the great Paul Roos plans to make someone pay a premium price for him.

0 disposals in a half of footy? Apparently the best 0 disposal half the coach has ever seen. Who was the last 0 disposal in a half player he had seen?

Put it this way, a think a majority on here have called for Howe to be dropped at some stage this year. What would this do to his trade value?

We have a pure genius in charge of the team, and is playing this perfectly. I'm starting to get excited about who we may be able to bring in to the club because of Roos' efforts.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
