FAREWELL JEREMY HOWE

What

What it says is that he has agreed to move to the Pies...instead of

He has nominated the pies as his preferred club.

The latter statement is the reality and the actual statement is really only one in hope.

We’ve just spoken off-air to Jeremy Howe’s manager Ben Niall, who confirmed he has agreed to move to the Pies. Buckley relationship the key

How can they do this when no deal has been done with MFC?

Has a better relationship with Buckley than he does with Roos? Wow. Says more about the kind of guy Howe is.

Bye bye bogan.

It has to be Howe for Kennedy and Pick 26 (which will explain why we offloaded 25 for Melksham).

I don't think we got true value out of this trade.

So we get Melksham and Kennedy for Howe and dropping 1 draft spot in second round.

Looking at it that way it's probably reasonable deal.

Mahoney on SEN
- Expressed frustration that this spanner has been thrown in the works from Howe
- Had gone a long way down the road with Gold Coast in negotiations
- Views Kennedy as a seperate deal to the Howe one
- No chance of forcing him into the PSD

Mahoney said on SEN that '...+ pick 6 and Howe for GCS pick 3 and there were other things around that' were part of the GCS negotiations that had been worked thru'. MFC will now deal with Pies. Trade will happen this week. A 1st to 2nd rnd pick will get it done.

Mahoney sounded incredibly flat.

We have publicly declared our hand.

I am incredibly deflated right now.

We will never know what the GCS deal was and what Howe going to Pies will cost us.

Why can't we play hard ball...just once!

Bye bye bogan.

Nothing whatsoever to do with relationships it has everything to do with $$$$ - $400k a year is a lot of coin to a guy plucked from some obscure Tasmanian village and given a break by MFC - bottom line is our FD did not rate him that much so we move on and try and extract the best possible trade to advance our cause - I for one do not think he is the sort of character that I would rely upon to stand up in finals when the heat is really on - Brayshaw, Hogan, Viney, Petracca, Vince, Jones, YES

Howe not sure !

Mahoney also said part of the GC deal was to swap picks 3 & 6. Suns have offered a contract to Howe.

Get stuffed Pies, unless they give us something bloody good we should nominate Suns as our 'preferred' trading club.

We can't force a player to go where they don't want to. All we could do would be to force him to the PSD, but that's cutting off our nose to spite our face.

We could do that, what is the difference between the Howe & Carlisle scenarios? Essendon are looking to deal with the clubs that satisfy their needs versus Melbourne looking to do a deal with the club that suits Howe's needs. Mahoney needs to grow a set, that is the difference.

Get stuffed Howe. Screwing us til the very end.

Really [censored] stuff from him. Wasted the entire season giving him games while he ran around doing SFA, and now he makes a final hour decision after we've already made a deal with GC.

I want so bad to throw him into the PSD, but I know we can't afford to. He deserves it though!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
