It's interesting. I'm comfortable with either outcoming involving or not involving us. a) Danger goes to Geelong and he props them up for four or so years (ala Judd at Carlton) and they become a fringe of the 8 club, but never really challenge and are left without a good, young nucleus. He fades in his last year or two and ends up being part of a team that just lacks that something that would push them to premiers again. Or b) Danger comes to Melbourne and helps our predominantly young, talented core push for the finals. His signing also makes us a more desirable location and coupled with finals footy on the horizon, he is a thorough success.

We can't lose. How's that for some good old fashioned MFCSS? :P

Has he signed with us yet?

Yes he has ET. We've lost Terlich though so win some, lose some.

The HUN is now running with the story that the Crows are all but certain to match any offer Geelong makes for Dangerfield, forcing them to do a trade. I absolutely LOVE this. Not only do I think it's the right thing for the Crows to do but it makes so much more harder for those arrogant handbaggers to get him. I'm stoked the Crows have got the guts to stick up for themselves and at least try and get the fairest deal possible.

So we're hoping that crows will force a trade & wr dreaming he will come to us.....

I'm hoping they make Geelong pay, I'm over the Cats...

Burn the bridge, destroy the plans for the distributor.

They will rue the day they deprived us of our prize.

At least if nothing else I know we have one gun recruit next season.

Bring on Tracca (and possibly Trenners).

So the crows match the offer, and the cats have to cough up potentially 2015 first rounder, 2016 first rounder and a player to get him across..

Dees swoop in and offer up pick 6 and Jeremy Howe for Danger

Any decent young cat mids we'd part with pick 6 for?

Cats then give it to the Crows with their first pick = win win win hahaha :)

PS: I believe the compo pick for Danger is unfair and way under for a player of Danger's quality - I hope the Crows match and demand a trade

About time some power went back to the clubs to get fair compensation

Mind you we have done ok so far out of the Compo system

Except that he appears to not want to go within about 100km of us. That and Geelong are apparently the FA club of his choice. Kinda helps if he agrees to go to a club for the trade to happen. Nice dream though.

Forget all that:

In what world is our first pick and Howe better than 2 first rounders and a player?

Man danger in the media. The smile looks pretty happy with himself.

The unfortunate reality is that if Geelong get their way, they will be in remarkable shape. If Clark gets back their forward line is monstrous. If Dangerfield comes then Selwood can't be tagged out of games. If they get Henderson then their defence looks secure. If they get S. Selwood their midfield depth is no issue. If Menzel can stay injury free then they're basically getting an amazing new player injected into their team for nothing.

And if Adelaide settle with the FA compensation pick, Geelong can bank another top 10 draftee and secure their future. Sadly this one draft period could set Geelong up for sustained success. Sick to death of the prolonged success from the same teams every single year.

They won't win another flag with that list, IMO.

Hope not. I remember wanting the Cats to win a Premiership ten years ago. Unfortunately, success has let the genie out of the bottle and unleashed smug, Country Road clad, prack supporters on us. I preferred it when they were the subjects of pity.

I never wanted them to win anything. My mum's side of the family are all Geelong. I always go with my MFC supporting sister and dad down the Geelong highway. I've always found their supporters incredibly smug and condescending. Particularly, down there.

Totally agree. Used to have a small affinity for the Cats due to the amount of brilliant players who couldn't crack it for a flag.

Was happy they won in 2007. That affinity was blown out of the water in 2008 when i went with my girlfriend (now wife) to Geelong. Walking to the ground we both had our Demons scarves on when there was a lady with a tin rattling for homeless kids of Geelong.

So i put a dollar in and even though she may have meant it as a joke she said "Thanks for that. i hope your team loses today."

That put me off the Cats and now i cannot stand them.

Those smug, moronic, Billabong wearing flogs.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
