This is all to cruel. I thought I'd made my peace with this. I'll now be checking for updates every 5minutes. Damn you Robbo!

GNF...Chook.any news...a signed forward dated contract perhaps? Something? :)

Same here. I hadn't even contemplated this for the last 9 months, but when I saw the thread hanging around the top of the main board today, curiosity got the better of me. I am back and I am invested now. Get it done.

I don't know if we are in the running or not but I'm certainly not interested in paying overs for him. If it forces the Cats hand and they have to move up to $1mill + then well and good.

No, not again. Turned 40 this year - not sure if my ticker can do this again. Might need to pre-emptively book with a cardiac specialist....

My friends, uncles, second cousins, sisters, boyfriend's dad has the same hairdresser as Paddy. Told me its a done deal.

I heard from Nathan Jones' hairdresser that this is definitely either true or not true, or just maybe, possibly true - however he admits to not having seen Nathan for many years.

Could be time to re open this.. Found this on Bigfooty

Found this interesting in Robbo's Tackle column:2. Patrick Dangerfield: Absolutely think he’s gone, although the Crows remain confident. Still, think it’s the Cats for him, although the Demons talk won’t go away. Anyhow, the guy gives his all and his performance against Richmond was one of his best.

and..

This bloke seriously dominating today. And By this bloke I don't mean this bloke... #AFLDeesNorth pic.twitter.com/EE3QYSNKUS

Nice work DD, hopefully it's not just a case of slobbo c0ckteasing us MFC supporters. You'd think he may have some clues working with Roosy every week and being a ....ahem..... 'Reporter' and all.......

CL8NufVUMAAbmAu.jpg

Maybe he was watching North?

Not likely, they have some $$ to splash apparently but they'd have to gut quite a few players to get into Danger $$ territory, which makes them a much less appealing destination anyway. Looks like they'll have there hands full retaining Tarrant now too.

Posted last year in this thread, pat was unbelievably close to accepting a deal put forward by melbourne. So much so that I quoted him at being above 90% to join. The thing that kept him at adelaide was an honest meeting with phil walsh in the days leading up to trade week that addressed pat's issues with the leadership at the club from board level, as well as the former coaching staff interaction with senior players.

I would have assumed pat was a certainty to stay after talking to him earlier in the year, but the tragic passing of phil has put doubt in his mind about staying again. Very tough environment to be around still and a lot of trauma with him along with other players as you'd expect. I can't really add what he is thinking as of today, but I do know that he hasn't made his mind up either way. I was last meant to have a coffee with him after the gee long game but that weekend was thrown into chaos with phils passing.

I'll add more if I know, but what I can tell you is melbourne have been very proactive to him and his management, Paul roos especially.

Imagine injecting Dangerfield and Prestia into our midfield next year. Actually, I shouldn't use that word.

Add Petracca, Salem, Kent and maybe even Trengove and we're starting to look like a finals side. That would be truly amazing in just three years of Roos.

Dangerfield, Prestia, ANB, VDB, Salem, Viney, Petracca, Brayshaw, Kent, Trengove, and Gawn as the ruck. All already are or have the potential to become A-graders. If only....

If we are going to throw millions/5 plus years at anyone id rather treloar than danger

The difference is we won't have to trade for Dangerfield.

Exactly. Plus if we landed him as a free agent we suddenly become a very attractive option for other players looking to be traded/free agents.

Which makes Dangerfield and Prestia much more possible. Having said that, I don't hold much hope at all for that dream trade period.

I do know that Geelong are supremely confident that he will leave the crows, and are convinced they'd be his choice of destination.

I fear for them that they may be putting too much stock in old opinions, and fail to realise that they are no longer a "destination" club, visibly on the slide.

It makes me smile.

If Dangerfield was 90% certain in his mind of staying with the Crows, I would have thought it would have been an incredibly uplifting gesture to the club if he announced that he was staying not long after Phil Walsh's passing. I'd say that he's 90% certain of leaving, with Geelong being his destination.

Roosy may well have gotten into his ear, but he's also tried to woo Hanneberry, Prestia, Rockliff, Kennedy and Dangerfield last year, without success. There's a difference between making a play for a player, and actually landing them.

I don't. It would've been very egotistical of Dangerfield or anyone for that matter to use such a tragic occasion to make a decision on his/their contract status.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
