Changes vs North

What

For mine, Garland will come out because of his knee and the only other out I'd have is Jamar. We went tall against a very tall West Coast but North don't have the same type of team, and with Chip down back we're covered there.

Jamar has done a lot better this year than I thought he would, but it seems like he's been struggling for the last 4 or so games so give him a rest and that'll give Fitzy the chance to have some decent minutes in the ruck.

I'd love to tell either Pedersen or Dawes that one of them must be in the F50 all game, no matter what, then have the other roam. With Fitzy/Gawn resting up there.

Coming in would be Riley (but to stay in the midfield, not forward or back pocket) and Mackenzie or Blease (I still have a small amount of hope for him).

....

Matt Jones, Garland (injured) and one of the bigs (given it's a night game, it's probably not that wise to play four ruckmen!) should be the third omission.....

I'm intrigued. What is the basis of that statement? Heads too high for the roof? (serious question, not just poking fun)

I don't really care any more, but the biggest statement Roos could make would be to drop Jamar - 2 kicks & 1 mark on the weekend, and precious little more in recent weeks. If Frawley is going, we may as well make a statement and drop him too - I really can't see our compensation being affected.

On the other hand, if Roos and Jamar know that the Russian is going to retire at the end of the year, perhaps they should announce it during the week and let him play his final game.

(I stress that I have no information to suggest that Jamar intends to retire.)

LDC Jamar has another year to run on his contract there is no chance he will retire.

Would you?

Out: Dawes, Garland, Viney

In: Blease, Strauss, Nicholson

Get Dawes out and hopefully he can do a full pre-season, Garland and Viney the same.

Bring these three in for their last games for our club, hopefully Blease has a ripping game and we can suck a club into giving us overs for him.

No No and No.

Wait, maybe on straus.

Blease and Nicholson will never play for the dees again.

Care factor void for this game unless we win.. Then i may watch the highlights!

In: Blease, Strauss, Nicholson are you kidding me ???? I understand we have some spuds in the 22 but rewarding any of these blokes ahead of Toumpass , Barry , JKH is insane.

Gone the 3 off them and easily forgotten

Not insane, logic, we have three blokes that went into the year underdone. Dawes is a spud at the moment looks like he can't move, Garland is the same and Viney has been struggling for 5-6 weeks. Toumpas is underdone, Barry and JKH no need to expose them to another flogging, protect them, bring in these three they are already damaged goods, hopefully Blease shows something and some stupid club wants him. The other two are done.

Add Jamar to that list, missed most of the pre-season with whatever-he-had.

Paying for it now it seems.

Going to be interesting to see how many supposedly fit players are sent off for ops. Was a longish list last year.

Be it the first game or the last game it should not matter. Have any of Blease, Strauss, Nicholson knocked down the door to be selected - NO !!!

Have they earned the right / deserve the honour to don the club Guernsey one last time - NO

No one is interested in any of these rejects because unlike previous years people thought " Its just because they had a dud coach, I'm sure we can make something of them" Not any more we have one of the best coaches in the land and im sure it will now be " If Roos cant make him a footballer or see anything in him , then he must be a bona fide DUD "

Goodbye to that lot and throw in Tapscott , Evans & Clisby.

Unless North have one of their shockers (they are due) - and even then it won't matter - regardless of who the Demons pick it will be another disaster which I will as always put myself thru the agony of watching.

Why oh why oh why???????????????????????????????

Let's make Saturday night "fan appreciation" night when we can say our farewells to some of our successful high draft picks and excellent servants of the MFC:

IN -Tappscott, Blease, Strauss, Nicholson,

OUT - Jamar (rested), M Jones, Garland (injured), Kent

And in the unlikely event Blease kicks 6 and Strauss picks up 25 kicks with 100% efficiency, then what does the club do with its list? I can't see any value in playing those who the club has already decided won't be at the club next year except for any long-serving player who might be retiring.

Players often retire while contracted if their body (or mind) is shot. I don't know Jamar's physical or mental state and I'm not calling for him to retire. All I'm saying is IF he plans to retire, he should be given the dignity of playing in the final game of the year with an announcement beforehand so supporters have an opportunity to thank him for his service.

looks like Tappy and JKH are out

JKH, Tappy unlikely to be available

cant help thinking we've already seen the last outing of Tappy in the red and Blue

I am tipping a Nev Jetta scenario for Tappy

delisted and given a rookie list spot

I believe he can still make it, and have a Jetta like resurrection

might be the impetus he needs. Will keep this in mind.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
