  1. No loss - artificial type lacking lacking substance.
  2. Absolutely must get another strong key forward to support Jesse Hogan otherwise he will have 3 defenders jumping all over him next year which would be a quick way to make him look elsewhere to play. Dawes is NOT the answer for that job. Have time for Pedersen but he is a third tallish forward.
  3. No farewell from me. Rivers was treated disgracefully by Neeld - while it was very sad to see him go I don't blame him and was happy to see him play some good footy at the Cats. But Frawley - I did not enjoy seeing him get a premiership medal immediately at Hawthorn - no applause from me. Now Howe - he like Frawley is now the "enemy" and I don't wish him well. (loved Garland's comment that a Premiership medal would only be enjoyed if it was with Melb.) Have to get some support on field for Hogan and tie him up long term before his pesky manager starts shopping him around (beware Freo with Pavlich going and them not getting McCarthy).
  4. Thanks to those who have made sensible comments - yep - maybe not as "bad" as I thought. Thanks to the others of you who have given me my laugh for the day. All I want is to see is the Dees hated for being so good as they were in the 50s - no snow jokes then - 1939 to 1964 - ten flags in twenty-six years - I'd take that.
  5. Are the MFC still using the Paleo diet. I have a scientist friend who says it is way outdated prehistoric quackery and it sounds like it to me. Real men like Jesse Hogan, Jonesy, Viney etc. surely wouldn't want this. Look at what Pete Siddle's diet did to him - took at least 5kms off his pace. The article in The Age - link below - supports it is quackery: http://www.theage.com.au/entertainment/pete-evans-given-award-which-recognises-quackery-20151017-gkbq4i.html Are MFC still using Paleo and, if so, surely we should urge them to cease the quackery.
  6. Latest report I read said it is not a Premiership player - not that any sexual assault if it is true should be trivialised. If what we read is true re trading and the Dees wind up with yet another midget in Ben Kennedy for Howe and Toumpas (no good I know) - MFC will allow itself to have been raped in a football sense.
  7. Totally agree - beyond belief that the Dees would take Kennedy for those two (tho Toumpas aka notolliewines is a dud) - Kennedy is 175cm for goodness sake - not even 5 foot 10 inches in the old. And the club has Garlett (good) and JKH (???) - so why another midget. What about some support for Jesse H who will have three defenders jumping all over him next year - and Dawes is not the big man forward answer to back Jesse up.
  8. See Howe said he battled to produce his best at a struggling club - not bad seeing the Dees beat the Pies last time - absolutely screw Collingwood for all MFC can get. (so cheesed off seeing Frawley get a Premiership medal tho I know the compensation was O K) Equalisation is dead (as it always has been) as (some) players will go to the stronger clubs for a bit less. Not that Howe will get a Premiership medal at Collwood. In the last 15 years the NRL with 16 teams have had eleven different Premiers with no club winning consecutive flags. Contrast the AFL with 18 teams and only 7 different Premiers in the last 15 years with 2 "threepeats" and maybe a "fourpeat" coming up!! (and the Cats 3 in 5 years). Clearly the NRL have a better system.
  9. What a pearler if Sydney somehow lose to the Gold Coast - Tigers 4th, Sydney 5th - Nth get to go to Sydney.
  10. There was nothing wrong with Melbourne "winning" the Kreuzer Cup - where they mucked it up was in beating the Doggies in Round 19 that same season (Mark Riley trying to get the coaching job permanently). Coincidently that win against the Doggies was the last win at Colonial/Telstra Dome/Etihad stadium.
  11. Could not agree more - funny to see Ed and Co doing a game they no doubt thought was a certain win - but I, to, also want to record the game with the proper commentary - well as proper as we can get.
  12. Coleman was a (sensational) full forward. Hogan is an all over the forward line player. Took a Friday night game for the general public to wake up - but he has been very good in all 4 games (2nd half agst GWS they didn't get the ball into the forward line for him.
  13. Yep - what about Richmond Classified (aka Footy Classified) - last night more than half the "show" was about Richmond apparently giving some team a walkover on Friday night - apparently all that "other" team had to do was run out on the field?? Led by C Wilson going on and ond on and on and on with Lloyd and Hutchison in support - G Lyon didn't help. Who was the other team and did they have to do anything else to win - what an insult - HELLO Garry. Then all the Clarko stuff - sure ideally he wouldn't have been there - but if those yobbos knew anything about the Battle of Britain - 1987 - The Oval - just ask Ian Aitken what Clarko is capable of - enough said. Caro has to thrive on this stuff as she doesn't know anything about the game ON THE FIELD!!
  14. Me too - Dwayne Russell is worse than McAvaney - and I thought that was impossible.
  15. Because Grimes is a very good player and in the best 22 - simple. The Kent one is tougher - Toumpas has never shown anything at AFL level. Maybe another tall because of Sandilands - Gawn - very raw - Pedersen deserves a shot but hardly equipped to pinch hit in the ruck against Sandilands.
  16. vandenBerg - a classic example of the massive positive difference in list management since Roos has been at the club. Clearly Roos has a great network of smart footy people. Can only hope it continues when Roos is gone.
  17. I am sick of clubs like Melbourne being treated as "Academies" to develop players for the top/rich clubs to raid. Hope like hell he stays but not on a ridiculously high pay packet - but a good fair one - he is a gun player for mine.
  18. Clarkson did nothing wrong. The yobbo is lucky Clarkson was smart enough to not give him the same treatment he (wrongly back then) dished out to Ian Aitken of Carlton in the 1987 Battle of Britain!! At The Oval from memory.
  19. P S What a wonderful experience to be there, see it unfold and see all the loyal Demon supporters so happy. Also thinking tonight - Roosy never used to like Sydney winning pre season when he was there - remember his comment to McVeigh - go forward but don't kick a goal. So while no point getting too carried away with today apart from greatly enjoying the win - maybe the NAB whatever games they are meant very little.
  20. Cross a hack - what game were you at Biff. 110% every time - I know he is slowing down but he still gets the job done very reliably consistently.
  21. Vince for Toumpas a no brainer - after that what a beautiful problem to have.
  22. It was a thing of beauty. Highest score of the round so far. New to Melb players kicked 8 of the goals. Unlike last year didn't have to rely on the opposition kicking badly to win. Withstood the challenges and supporters not just teased. So much to like about the new blood - at last some very good list management (and the top recruit sadly injured - taken ahead of the very impressive Brayshaw can only hope Petracca comes up O K next year). Hardly a negative and some good players in the wings - so maybe slowly building a bit of depth. If only Jeremy Howe would re sign - especially after and given today. And the rest of the footy world haven't woken up how good Tom McDonald is.
  23. Yes,absolutely, certainly etc. etc. Of course he plays. He showerd more than Jimmy Toumpas has in 2 seasons. Deestroy all - you are obviously kidding re Jonesy.
  24. The greatest Demon "will o the wisp" I saw until Robbie F came along. To not start until age 25 and be that good - amazing. And a fantastic sense of humour and raconteur. Another extremely sad loss.
