Post Match Masochism - Round 21

Our players are just dumb footballers! It's a simple game footy. Skill level is vfl level. At best! I've said all year we don't play with any skill. Everything is a hack attempt to win.

Well our VFL team lost today and it was 90% mfc players...

I thought Michie tried his guts out today. I saw numerous of times sprinting hard to chase a opponent while others jogged.

His kicking skills are top notch. He won't make it as a footballer for that.

Is that a typo? Would have thought it is exactly what is needed. He also has very fast hands. His hand balling is very good. I think he is still a bit over awed as a newby. A very quiet bloke that takes a bit to come out of his shell.

do you really think i cut up my membership just because the home games are over or because im sick of putting up with years upon years of failure?. also quit with trying to seperate "fans" from "supporters" theres people out there that would love to spend money supporting this club but cant afford it. I myself nearly had to pull the plug last year due to financial difficulties does that mean i would love the club any less? I know a lot of "fans" i'd take to the trenches before i took a "supporter" like you

If you cannot afford a membership Salems, that is totally different, and I apologise for that. If not, however, don't cut it up at the end of the year and throw in the dramatic (and thoroughly inappropriate) war trenches analogy to prop yourself up. Again, you are a drama queen. If you are sick of years of failure, join the gang, we all are.

I have invested a great deal of time, money and passion to this club over the journey of almost 50 years.

If I decide that I've got nothing left to give without receiving some effort in return I will do so.

If that means someone refers to me as a fan, not a supporter it says more about them than it does me.

The lows have just become to much, and I can't devote as much of myself as I have to something that is supposed to be a pleasurable diversion from the harshness of everyday life.

I just wish I hadn't inflicted this onto my children who have really only known the festering sore this club has become.

I will always remember the late 80's with great fondness

No its tongue in cheek....

He can actually kick. Doesn't fit team policy.

Am donating my MFC membership money to charity next year. Thankyou. Good bye.

Mully don't go just yet. Are you Maynard G Crabbs or Gilligan? Can you confirm before you go?

Can't believe the Hun gave Kent our best player. His disposal was disgusting.

Yet oddly enough Kent is a good kick, especially for goal, although he should have handballed off on the one where he hit the post. His efficiency was poor today but is that because he is trying to set something up as opposed to others running at 70% who do nothing but chip it around? Not sure just asking but to me Kent had plenty of upside in a better team that drives the ball quickly into the forward line. And that is not us by miles.

Issue is players dont work hard enough offensivly whicheaves the ball carrier under pressure with no easy targets. That results in our bad disposal. Simple lack of players wanting other players to do the work offensively

How many times did I see a Melbourne player mark the ball today, stop then kick it over the mark? That style of play died at the start of the 60's/end of the 50's! It seems as if they want to take a breather whenever they get a mark.

The only thing missing was the walk back, the steadier....then a torp!

Kent was terrible today, not just for his disposal.

He has a bit of the Bleases about him. Willing to run when there's a chance he can kick a goal, but when we're defending or when the hard work needs doing, goes missing.

I like that he wants to kick goals and he has scoring ability, but there is more to football than being a showpony and Kent needs to learn that.

Not sure the average amongst AFL players but he had 8 goals 6 points prior to today's game... He's not great and he puts the blinkers on from 65 out.

He needs to improve that area.

Yes anus and ... I think it was early in the third quarter that he went very soft at a contest.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
