17 points and it feels like we're 70 down to be honest.

Really? I feel like we've cotrolled the game for large parts as much if not more than Freo but just cant make it count on the scoreaboard. The set shots from Dawes and Grimes were gimmes you cant afford to miss those. Add in the non-call for the deliberate they kicked from 40 m out and a couple of snaps that should have gone through in the first quarter and it really should be even on the scoreboard.

Freo resting Pav and Hill and still making us look like the VFL standard trash side we truly are

How amazeballs is it that even when missing a couple of key players, the 4th side is way better than the 15th side? You could tickle me pink, how much that fact surprises me!

The lack of perspective on here is... well, at its usual levels, I guess.

You can't keep playing Salem for a handful of possessions per week. We're 1 man down. It's been the same for weeks now. Just don't get it.

Agree, the past few weeks he has had very little impact. Needs a rest or sent back to the 2's, as he is not worthy of a spot given current form (then again, how many would be?)

Our players don't like like they have the hunger to win. Week in week out we do the same turnovers mad end up giving away goals. Decision makings are killing us. Get rid of the dud one please Roos. Play the young ones and develop them. Please.

LOL @ this footy team

ONE GOAL IN A HALF OF FOOTY

We are still the worst team in the AFL, and by a long way

So let me guess... If we get up and win this game you will never post on Demonland again.

Who put their hand up at Casey today? Riley and Nicholson the only listed players in the bests, and both show nothing at AFL level.

Yeah, we turn the ball over a bit. That's because we lack class.

I love it how the emotional flakes here react like it's a sudden realisation.

Doesn't make it any less frustrating to watch. What do you expect - sit their and accept crap

...again.

I love Roos, and far be it from me to question him, but just once I would love for him to coach to win this season, not coach to drill an education and hope we might win.

Going too tall, sticking to the same rigid structure etc... it's frustrating when it's hindering our ability to win.

Although turning the ball over again and again is actually what is killing us most.

You sound like a Freo supporter during Ross Lyon's first season.

2 men down if you include Watts.

Some of his efforts or should I say lack of efforts are just pathetic

Posted (edited)

The effort is there and we have been as good as if not better than them for most of the first half.

But the one key difference between the teams is class - one team takes its opportunities and kicks goals, the other fluffs opportunities and misses easy goals.

Jack Grimes that was absolutely disgraceful. Your team needs you to kick a goal and you miss from 10 metres out. Completely took the stuffing out of the side instead of putting us a few points behind.

Dawes also missed from about the same distance. And he also missed a sitter in the first term. It just absolutely kills you in low-scoring defensive games.

So frustrating when you are doing a lot of things right but just cannot execute the most basic skill in footy.

And I said before the game we were too tall and the same thing happened against Collingwood. Why would you select so many talls in Darwin? Most goals are coming from ground level (surprise surprise) yet we select two ruckmen and about 8 key position players.

Grimes is not a captain, he's barely an AFL footballer. When he missed that captain's goal from 10 m out 45 m angle, I just hung my head. Time for Roosy to start putting some of our players on notice. This is just unacceptable. Garland also having an absolute stinker (second week in a row now). Tyson, still too slow to make a decision. Watts has done stuff all. Gawn looks like hes running less than 1/4 pace. Jamar continues to tap to peoples feet. Salem contributing absolutely zilch. Nate Jones being shown up by Nick Suban. Dawes holds one mark for the half and then misses a sitter from 20 m out slight angle. Just terrible all round.

Players that are a pass mark: Pedo, TMac, Kent, M Jones (but please just stop with the 20 m chip passes to a player that's hot), Howe (ditto), Jack Viney, Terlich

Infuriating team to follow this one.

I think we're playing to win and think Roos has structured us in the best possible way to beat Fremantle. We're three scoring shots behind and have missed two easy shots on goal and they scored late in quarters after we tired (mentally and physically). If anything you could argue Lyon is the coach who has set his team up to minimize damage. He's the one playing one extra behind the ball. Yes, I now why but attacking Roos for our defensive mindset is incredibly simplistic.

And another constructive post from Mr. "Allison's reviews on the Casey players are too negative, I'm going to write to the club".

No-one, and I mean no-one, trashes the club more than HH.

Correct 'Nasher', there is a reason why we are 15th. We've improved a lot this year but are still a way off the top teams.

Freo are setting up now for a run at the flag, we're trying to get competitive. Some people need to grow up a bit here.

Of course it is frustrating. It's the reaction to that frustration that says a lot about the poster.

We know where we are.

Learning a functional game plan off the the coach who successfully implemented a game plan onto the Swans that has stood the test of time and continuing to rebuild the list.

As a starting point our 2 boom recruits for 2014 will be Hogan and Trengove.

And Salem too. Toumpad was critized for his year last year. Salem is having and even worse. Been saying this for the past 4 weeks he needs a REST. Didnt do a Pre Season and we are out playing him full games when he is clearly not fit enough. Dave Mission needs to sort this out or we will completely burn him out.

Grimes must have some amazing leadership qualities to be captain because he has few footballer qualities. Nothing more certain than him missing from 10 metres out.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
