Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I've been a huge fan since the beginning, and I'd like him to stay as he makes our back line much stronger and will be even more valuable when we're a good team.

However that pathetic shepparding attempt that threw Terlich under the bus made my stomach turn.

Imagine Chip's reaction had someone done that to him.

I hope Roos is all over it in the team meeting / review.

Perhaps Jetta can do some assistant coaching and teach these bozos that you can still defend even when WE have the ball.

I could not believe the lack of awareness or interest to cover Terlich. How ironic that he calls for 100% improvement yet lacks the fundamentals....

Yes, I only just thought about that after I posted it.

You want team improvement yet can't execute a basic yet highly important team fundamental?

Extract a finger.

FWIW frawleys management is telling the hawks $650k. Source I have is from within the hawks footy dept. and hawks aren't prepared to pay, So it appears he is hawking himself around. interestingly Nathan fyfe is asking $800k. This person didn't mention the hawks attitude to that one.

I'd pay $800k for Fyfe.

No... That's his manager seeing what he can get, so he can go back to Frawley and say "Hawthorn is willing to give you $X..." And he can go to MFC and say "Hawthorn are willing to pay him $X to play for a contender, we want you to match it..."

If Frawley himself was meeting with them, then maybe you'd have a point.

Apparently, Fremantle turned down his manager's ask price of $700K. Looking like he can't chase a flag in the short-term and have the big money! 800k...700k...650k...? His manager seeming a bit of a dill.

Melbourne may not want to match any offers! Guess it will depend on the comp pick...unfortunately as his price goes down so does his comp pick.

Machsy frawley himself is not allowed to meet with them by free agency rules during the season, but as we know these deals are done well in advance of the end of the season, he has most likely told his management a ball park figure of what he feels could convince him to leave and his manager will try and create the best possible deal for him.

The lack of helping a team mate out (in the 3rd quarter I think it was) deep in our back pocket when Terlich gathered a ball, Frawley jogged and failed to apply a shepherd or body pressure to a much smaller opponent in Jamie Elliott who just ran around him and laid a tackle on Terlich which kept the ball locked in our defensive 50, would suggest to me he is not fully committed to the cause but it is only once incident although there have been several occassions where he has failed to apply a shepherd or second effort.

Common trait which is hard for him to break out of or something to read into who knows

Where's the loyal country lad in all of this ... or is that just some pathetic smoke screen?!

That he hasn't yet signed up to the club - as a leader of the club - is absolutely hopeless in my opinion.

Velvet Sledgehammer says that we should let him go, which means in my mind that we should definitely 100% keep him.

Lloyd is one of the worst 'journalists' out there.

But he does know a bit about football.

Agree. I have seen him jogging after a player instead of running. His passing consists of kicking it high up in the air. I feel he has had a very poor year so far.

Who really cares if he goes

I don't believe he is in our best 10 now and if we get a decent compo let him go In fact I would tell his manager that we will offer 3 years at $450000 non negotiable ie lowball him and putsome pressure on. He is not worth the bother at the moment Just another distraction from the strategic plan of the future of the Dees Ignore him please.

That non shepherd was a shocker!

He's only played two good games this year.

Let's save the coin and go after Fyfe in a big way.

Been getting away with average laziness for years and because he was one of the few "class' players,Ive always been mindful not to post about him or JW due to monster feedback from lovers of these 2.

Just cant believe some of his laziness and" i will try when i feel like" attitude hasnt been noted on here very often.

Maybe too many of us dont want the criticism for posting negatively about these 2.

You're entitled to your opinion jazza and you raise some salient points.

Is he potentially the last to go from a previous poor culture?

Can you please explain to me why 'leaders' at a club have to sign mid-season?

are you guys serious about this. a non shepherd means he is leaving ? he lead up all day and took plenty of marks. Watts signed a new contract and misses shephards, tackles and lacks intent at times week in week out.

Frawley was playing as a key forward and was racking up the km's

Stan Alves looked pretty damn happy winning a flag in '77 after one season at North. That really made my stomach turn.

You do know that Skilton sacked him saying he was going on a youth program and Alves wasn't in his plans even though he was the Captain. Sound familiar. He got a call up from Barassi to go to Nth and couldn't believe his luck. He wouldn't have played anywhere that year without that call. He told me this himself.

Last year I was genuinely concerned about the potential loss of Sylvia, in the end we effectively got Vince to replace him - who's performed far better in his short career here (on a consistent basis) than what Sylvia ever did.

My point is whether Frawley stays or goes I'm really not fazed (for once), as I'm certain the club already has a partial backup plan in order.

Previously we've seen Frawley restrict the likes of Cloke, Riewoldt (x2), and Franklin etc. to a small handful or sometimes non-existent bag of goals. This year he's been moved forward with the likes of Dunn, Garland, and McDonald holding down the backline - and doing a pretty good job as well.

Now I'm not sure what price he's asking but at this point for me he's no Harry Taylor, and I feel he needs to impose himself up forward more often to show he's worth the coin and that he can be one of the games best KPP swing-men. If he's lost our current defenders are more than capable, the compensation and spare change from his and Clark's salary will put us in a prime position to obtain another high end player (or 2) whether they're a forward or midfielder.

Now I'm not saying I want him gone, I want him to stay just like any other on here. I only feel the club will have a quality backup plan if he is to leave.

Edited by ignition.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
