The story so far -

Frawley sends a message to his best mate saying "get me out of here" - Rivers forwards it on to Scott, the negotiations begin.

Geelong have an offer in the vicinity of 450k - 500k over 5 years on the table.

Melbourne 550k - 600k 5 years

Freo - 500k - 550k 7 Years.

Those figures show he will be taking a pay cut to have "success" at Geelong. His manager is using the Fremantle offer as leverage but history will show, Geelong don't pay overs.

Could this end up a Dustin Martin scenario and he stays with Melbourne after all?

Freo offer is reported at $4m over 7 years and that is over $570k per year.

Who said we are offering $550-$600k per year for 5 years. I sincerely doubt that.

I hope to hell it's not.

I want the virus out.

Out with the old, and in with the new.

So were you a junior joiner?

So are you an English teacher?

If you have nothing better to do then pick spelling errors on this website then you must have a pretty sad life.

No sense of humour ILL?

Face it we all have sad lives being Melbourne supporters.

And you do leave yourself open grammatically.

Trolling?

Reminds me of the good ol days, back in 1991 we had a crap team, Carlton meantime had Kernahan, Bradley, Williams, Sylvani, Brown, Gleeson, Madden etc etc. We could not afford to pay Earl Spalding what he wanted so he moved to Carlton , they had plenty of money and space in the cap! Sound familiar?

Of course players will be "allowed" to go to the Swans. No questions asked.

The broadcast deal told me that.

The AFL and CH7 need Sydney to be involved and watching the game late in September.

The East Coast is the market.

This was my fear when the bloated contract was revealled. $1.3 Bill for 5 years

CH7 have to pay that. So do FOX but they have many revenue streams.

CH7 is totally relient on advertising $$

This is why Vlad was a very poor CEO imo.

This deal will rip the guts out of Victoria.

If our 1991 team, which finished top 4 and produced the Brownlow Medallist, was crap, what on earth is our current side?

I've heard Sydney are into Frawley as well, but have no idea whether the dollars quoted above are correct.

Ultimately it means that players like Malceski will be allowed to walk, as was the case with Mumford, Everitt & others last year.

The difference between the top clubs and us, is that the top clubs identify and recruit top end talent that they can build a side around (ie key positions & midfielders), at any cost, and fill in the gaps with good honest triers as necessary. We, on the other hand, continue to make stupid decisions such as paying big dollars for utility types and fringe players.

I applaud Sydney for helping us attain the best possible draft pick for Frawley.

I only have one small query, How?

I still believe Chip has had at least a verbal agreement with a club in place from early in the year, probably Geelong. The rest is smoke and mirrors

Verbal agreements are not worth the paper they're written on...........

Good call pants.

Other than Jimmy and Lyon and Stretch my memory has failed me again. 1992 we finished 11th I think.

Our current side is really crap.

Edit: 1991 we finished 5th- 1992 11th

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
